Is the newer Q4318 Winchester NATO 124 FMJRN now box rated at 1200fps actually different than the older boxed Q4318 that had 1140fps on the back of the boxes?

The Winchester web site still shows the box with 1140fps.

The new boxes say 1200fps.

Both seem energetic compared to weak axx American standard ammo.  And there is no limp wristing in stiff new funs.

I like it and run it through my pile of 9mm Glocks. I think it better simulates duty loads and is pretty accurate

I would assume it was different but who knows. We've all been "fooled" with manufacturers listing data from the same ammo but using different barrel lengths. Sometimes the ammo listed with a lower FPS was actually hotter than the one listed  lower FPS. Then the manf. change specs without notice depending on what bullets, powder etc they have on hand but keep the same packaging

Since Winchester now has the military contracts, I think we will see more "mil-spec" loads from them that will hopefully be hotter. (Actually, I think Win. had some mil. handgun ammo contracts for a while now).

When I tested Q4318 it hit 1200 fps from a 5" barrel.

An older lot gave me 1130 in my g19. I want to say it was #pm90. If I remember to, I'll check my ammo when home in a few days if y'all care to be sure on the lot #. Have some stashed.

Great, Winchester appears to be rolling out 3 different SKU's for M882, all having different velocities.

It's the only stuff I've found so far that shoots fairly decent in my new M&P 2.0 9MM 5" FDE.

About to start trying to duplicate similar accuracy (better would be nicer) with 124 grain hollow points and a couple different powders.

Just ordered a bunch of this from SGammo for my new Sig M11-A1.

The box labeled 1140 chrono'd 1343 fps out of my 16" Ruger PC Carbine.

I will have to keep a look out for the 1200 fps box!

135 rounds of this at a target 15 yards away.  15 rounds went towards one of the orange steel plates in the background.  (Jack Whathisname I'm not ):

The Q4318 does get 1200 fps out of my 5 inch M&P. And good accuracy too. I get a round or two out of every box that has an overly hard primer. Click, no bang, and when I look at the primer on the round, it has the faintest mark on it. (I also had some very hard  Winchester primers that I use to load .45 Colt loads. Switched over to Federal primers for my pistol loads).

Last month I bought a box of Atomic 124 grain bonded (Match!) JHP. They are decently accurate ( best I could do on a very windy day), and average 1298 in the 5" M&P. Not sure I'll shoot much of it though, those loads have to be pushing 40,000 psi, more like +P+ than +P.

Chrono here was displaying the velocity of the Winchester Q4318 I had just fired, I hadn't yet shot any of the Atomics when the pic was taken.
