Well holy grail to me atleast. Behold the Czechmate Parrot. Shadow 2 next to it for comparison. Ive been using the S2 in production division and steel challenge since they were released and i liked this platform enough to go open division.

SO besides the the wonderfully colorful color scheme, what is different between the Parrot and the Czechmate?

I already have the TSO which can be made into an open gun,  but if I get drunk enough this holiday I might just buy a "dedicated" open gun and need to know these things.

Nothing. It’s just from what i understand, they only make less than 10 parrots a year around 5 get imported into the US. CZcustom was selling them for the same price as the regular models so i went with the parrot bc if rarity. Some places wanted like 1k+ more for the parrot.

That’s awesome, I’ve never even seen one in person, let alone got to shoot one.

Sooo...  have you shot it yet, where’s the range report?

Since you pry won’t need that crappy old Shadow 2 anymore, go ahead and pm me your address and I’ll send you a prepaid flat rate shipping box with my address on it, just throw the S2 in there and drop it in the mail, I’ll get rid of it for you

Shot it today. My minor loads wont cycle with an 11lb spring but im going to get a lighter one. My major loads work nice. With 115gr JHP over 8.4gr of HS-6 with 1.125OAL im getting 172pf. Shit is smooth. Factory 147gr Speer Lawman cycles nice with an 11lb spring.

Long story short i fucking love this thing.

I think the parrot does have some minor differences.

Isn't the trigger aluminum, for example? Reg CM is a poly trigger I believe. Probably a few other things.
Can't be sure because I can't get my dirty hands on one to fondle!

You are correct on that. Also might i add the newer CM’s are based on the TSO frame and the trigger guard is a different shape than the older ones. The older ones, the trigger guard was the same shape as the SP-01’s, just a hair thicker.

Unless you've changed the trigger and hammer, those appear to be different than the TSO

Very nice collection I might add.  I enjoy me some CZs, however don't have quite the family that you do.  Need to find which one of my pistols is using a condom :)

Tell me about that trigger? I was gifted a SP-01 for Christmas, and I love everything about the gun EXCEPT the trigger. The trigger pull is fine, my finger is just too big to fit comfortably in the curve of the trigger. Is it SAO or DA/SA?

It’s SAO. One thing about these Flat SAO triggers is that its set forward a little more and theres hardly any takeup. It gives your more leverage. You can also try changing the grips. Idk which ones came with yours but they make all different thicknesses which could help you with too much trigger finger.

One more question OP: can you switch which way the purple cocking handle is pointing? I shoot right-handed, so wouldn't I need it coming out the left side of the gun?

It comes like this but yeah you can switch it over easily. Only issue is that your thumb will always hit the handle when you go for the safety, especially when you draw at a high rate of speed. Its easy to get used to charging from the right but left will always be fast. What alot of people do is either bend it up at a 45 or they get a different one that bend at a 45 and straightens out at the top. Google pistol slide rackers and you’ll see

Id say this gun is pretty accurate. This is with 115gr JHP by Precision Delta over 3.8gr of Titegroup @ 1.110 OAL. My Major loads are pretty similar in accuracy. Square is one inch and target was at 25yard. Using a range bag as a rest.

That is awesome!

I don't have nearly as many CZs as some of the guys in this thread (Stainless 75B, Kadet, 97B, SP01, Scorpion).  I wanted a Czechmate bad.  Guy at my club shoots one, it's sweet. The 9mm Major scared me off a tad though, so I went with the CZ's cousin, a Tanfoglio Gold Custom in 38 Super.  Love it!  And, Love Open Division!

38 super would have been easier but the brass situation thrned me off. Alot easier and convenient to load 9 major. I’ll admit it was scary at first but thats why you start low and work your way up.

@ZEROTHOMAS

Is this essentially the same as the Czechmate TS but with a compensator and the anodized accessories?
My LGS has the all black Czechmate TS. Not really in the market for a $3000 comp gun, but was wondering if you have
any experience in how they compare? Thanks!

They are the exact same gun just mine has anodized parts, different style hammer and aluminum trigger. The all black gun comes with 2 barrels and all the parts to configure it as an iron sight gun or a open gun with an optic and comp. Other than that its the exact same gun

Maybe that Czechmate will go un-noticed for a year or so at my local shop, then I can pounce on it. Right now I can't.

Question- Why are those red dots the go to for so many competition guys?
View Quote
Just been the popular thing for a long time. Could be a monkey see monkey do thing but i found that the big ass window makes it so easy to find the dot. Its super fast and you cant get much fast using other types of dots. You can also get 2,4,6,8,12,16MOA dots and all you have to do is swap the module out. Most reflex sights try and stay compact and small to cut weight, be more concealable and rugged. Race guns are generally heavier guns from the start so size and weight doesnt matter all that much. They also arent designed to be combat sights and be super durable like RMR’s and what not. You slam this thing around and it WILL break. So you get a perfect red dot for $300 but you are paying for performance without the $5-600 price tag. Ive seen a bunch of guys go to the Deltapoint Pro from the Cmore and they say its similar. The DPP does have a large FOV and window so id imagine it would be an easy transition.

C moors have billions of rounds through them and they just work. Have been the go to sighting open class since the 90’s. You will see them mounted sideways to get the dot lower to the bore.
