as payment for services rendered. While I was completing some small household jobs for a new customer, she mentioned that her late husband had left her a pistol. She asked me if I knew anyone who would be interested in it. Haha
I waived my labor charges ($80), the parts/supplies ($40) and gave her $260 for the gun. She says he took it to the range 1 time and put it back into the box. I haven’t cleaned it up yet, as we have our annual 3 generation Christmas shoot coming up this week. I have no need for another gun. I have some in 357 magnum already, but with my gun addiction, I couldn’t help myself. Thoughts?

I would have insisted she keep it for self protection and take a basic pistol course. Load it up with light .38's and it's be a pussycat to shoot even for a lady.
But if she were still going to offer the gun after that advice, I'd have done what you did and laughed all the way home. Great guns. |

She is not a gun person, per se, but told me her father taught her to shoot and she thinks she could use it if necessary. |

Older, single woman. The idea of phone calls and emails with the occasional psycho showing up at the meet/sell was not what she was up to. Again, I have no need for it, but can’t pass up a good deal. Her washer broke the other day and so not having to pay me $120 and the $260 cash I gave her was a help. |

Nope that sounds good for all. It sounds like she was looking to retain her own cash and offload the extra stuff. I get her thinking.

Well, I shot about 75 rounds in 38 special and another 20 in 357m and all is well.
It’s was our annual 3 generation Christmas shoot, so I did get in some sig P365 and some Ruger MKII Target as well. |

Nice deal. I’ve had one for years it’s been a good revolver. You don’t have to worry about breaking it. I carry it occasionally in a small Don Hume JIC leather holster. You did well.
