Excellent work and result. Where did you get a (what appears to be) jig/guide for the safety notch?

Nice work. That reaminds me, I need to get with Jayson at Lok Grips about making some of his grips for the P320 panels. I worked with him with T&Eing the Vertec style G10 grips and re-contouring the standard 92 series grips. It would be nice to get one of those black frames and out some coyote G10 bogies on it.

Side question, is there any steel inserts in the screw holes for the grip panels? Or is it just steel screws in threaded aluminum?

@Rudikai13; bought the jig off Ebay "SIG P320 Manual Safety cut template"

CF: I’m going to cerakote both the frame and grips soon. Milos Klacko of Armory Craft already has prototype plastic grips for later production aluminum grips for these frames.

This frame has steel bushings.

Good to know, I didn't see them as thought "yikes".

The G10 grips made by LOK are really good. IMO better than VZ. Jayson has developed multiple new patterns. I've never been a fan of aluminum grips but it would be nice to have more options for the AXG modules either way.

I would prefer either G10 or plastic.  This pistol is pretty heavy; fully loaded with an M18 slide with Delta Point Pro comes in at 2.7 lbs.

With the weight, my 3.6 XCompact/Wilson frame has been getting more holster time lately.

That's exactly the reason I switched from carrying my supped up Berettas to the P320. My M18 with the RMR, X300 with the WC module, TTI +2 extension and 20 rounds is lighter than my stock WC Brig Tac Beretta 92 loaded. I do want to make a Carry II frame out of the AXG. Basically a 3.6" with a full size grip.

Very cool thanks for sharing. Just bought a kit from Rainier last night and have been thinking of how to fit my FCG in.
Will be giving this a shot.

Great job OP.   We really need a “like” option, at least for the tech forums.

Looks great. Tell me about the kit. Any prep work like bead blasting? What was the cure time?

Yes Sir, mags slide in/out perfectly!

Prep was easy; I 1. roughed it up with purple scratch pad, 2. cleaned/degreased with acetone in a small aluminum cake pan
3. Preheated parts at 250’ for 30 min
4. Couple of light coats of cerakote
5. Cool/stand for 10 minutes
6. Bake parts at 250’ for 2 hrs
7. Reassemble/done!!

Did you use any kind of spray gun? It sounds very much like the process I use when I alumahyde my shotguns.

Tac-14 I did awhile back using Alumahyde grey park.

I used a Preval Sprayer, less than $5.00 at Home Depot.

Can you recharge it? How long does the charge last?

Not rechargeable, it's essentially a disposable aerosol can that screws onto a glass jar that you put paint in.  I dont know for sure, but I bet there's enough in the aerosol can to do at least two handguns.

As cheap as they are, when I start another project, I'm going to have an extra or  two extra on hand as back ups, just in case.

I keep fighting thoughts about a 'proper' cheap hobby spray gun being inexpensive, but I don't know that I'd use this more than once. AND, the Preval is Cheap!

A surplus PVD slide and FCU would be the most perfect.
