If they release a coyote one I might just make that shitty decision of buying it.
Once it’s on the market a while, and Osagecounty starts selling them, they’ll still probably be expensive as shit, but not $400 I’m sure.
Yeah they really jumped the shark. With the new custom FCU and that module you are looking at $700 before you add a slide. I'm sure people will still buy them though. If they made one in coyote I might be compelled to buy one.

I have aluminum grip sides for an ACP pistol and they cost $109. So it might be inline for a full module if it was CNC aluminum thoughout.
Polymer is always cheaper.. though.. |
There was a SIG rep here saying that they were aiming for a $250 price point. I find that acceptable. $400? Fuck you
Maybe they'll be $350 at retailers. Sig Store sells everything for MSRP prices.

$400 is steep, but they did just come out. Also not quite the same thing, but a HK VP9 long slide kit is $400 ish as well. Both Sig and HK know their fan boys will pay whatever the price is.

Ill agree that it is a bit higher than I expected. The TXG was about the same price when it came out if memory serves me and its quite a bit lower now and even cheaper o the secondary market.
When you break it down though. $399 for AXG $299 For X-Series Slide $149 for BBL $29 for recoil assembly ________ $876.00 + FCU Cost (Average of $200 for Used/Takeoff on the EE of $299 for a custom works) Unless you have one lying around. That's not out of line with what any other X-Series Gun goes for. So say $876 to $1175ish for a Custom Gun you that you get "Burger King" style, (Have it your way). I paid $900 for a First Gen X5. X5 Legion is what $1000-$1100ish / Scorpion is $1100ish Sorry, but I don't think its that bad and when you consider how it will balance out the gun, I believe this will be a strong competitor against the Legion X5 and even..... dare I say it? Against the CZ Shadow series! Ill post some pics when I get mine Monday! cp |

Considering it is a machined aluminum frame I'd probably have priced it around $150-200. About on par with a 1911 frame.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: oooh, I thought it was "polymer" Now more reasonable. Lots of hours on an expensive CNC to turn a block into a grip. When I can buy a P320 PRO for $570 (NS and all), the bare aluminum frame for $400 is unreasonable. Comparing street price (pre current market conditions price, too) of the 320PRO and MSRP (what we sell product for on our website) on the AXG, isn’t exactly apples/apples comparison, though. That said, I understand your hesitation on purchasing. |

Does this frame use the P226/P229 grip panels or are they an AXG specific item?

Judging by the fact these are still very much still in stock it seems Sig really over estimated the market.

Quoted: I won’t ever buy one without a thumb safety cut out. View Quote Holy crap. I just notified that the grip panel goes up into the area that the safety cut out would be. They really fucked up on that. Well. It’ll work for the non safety guns. It may not even fit with the safety of the notch got cut into it with out trimming the whole corner off the grip. |

However, I am quite confident if there is a market for it, SIG will be able to make it work. It's just a grip panel and the frame will definitely support it. I am glad so many of you are taking a pass on this now. I need another 2 weeks to pick up another one and at least I know they wont sell out! cp |

Stand by, I ordered one with the intention of cutting it for a safety.

Pardon my ignorance, but do these use the same mags as the polymer grip modules?
Yes Sir, they do use the same 17rd mags as used in the polymer grips.

Seems like a good waste of $400. Does nothing for you that the lighter polymer frame doesn't do. I'd rather put that towards another Sig.

View Quote That’s pretty subjective, are you trying to convince us or yourself that you don’t need this marvelous piece of equipment? Fact is it does do something. 1. It balance the gun quite nicely and better than a plastic grip. 2. It enhances the gripping surface and comfort level of the grip allowing you to obtain a proper grip easier. 3. The roughly 4-5oz it adds helps to reduce felt recoil over the plastic modules, and it is just simply a pleasure to shoot! Of course these are my reasons for having one and it justifies my expense. It may not be worth it to some people and that’s cool. To each their own. Cp |

So forgetting price, lets talk about this new frame. Has anyone here held on? Any pics comparing it to the standard or X carry frame?
I've seen a few comments stating that the AXG frame makes the 320 feel like a 229 but that doesn't make sense to me? The 229 has a shorter grip then the 226. Crude measuring (and feel of hand) tells me that 226 frame has pretty close to the exact same grip length as my P320 Carry. I would have assumed AXG frame would have the same grip length as the standard 320 frame (because obviously they use the same mags) so I'm not understanding why some people are saying the AXG frame feels like a 229 frame? Shouldn't it feel more like a 226 frame? |
I just pulled a P226R, P228/9R and an AXG from the safe to make that comparison for you; it's cutting hairs on all sides, all three are damn near identical.
I'll add pics later. |
I grabbed one of the 320 AXG, and the only reason I compared it to a 229, is the carry/compact/Who can keep track slide. But your right, the 229 grip length is shorter than the carry grip mods.
A full size slide on the AXG module, would probably feel more comparable to the 226. The main point is that the AXG really adds that p226/8/9 feel to the 320. It has a very familiar weight. |
That's cool. I was curious because its been many years since I've held one (and can't even remember if it was a 228 or 229?) but I remember the grip feeling small for my hands. I am interested in the AXG grip but not if its 229 size but it sounds like its not.
