Got out my dads pocket watch with a Colt Fob and thought I would carry my 70 series Colt.

Nice! Something about 1911s and nice time pieces that just goes together.

Very nice.

I like 1911's without the damned front slide serrations.

Love that gun.  That had some King's custom shop work done to it IIRC?

Might I ask why you don't swap out some more aggressive grips? The smooth style yours has makes my 1911s jump around in my hand too much.

I've never had that problem.  I do use other type of grips.

I use the VZ-style of grips on as many semis as I can.

Here's one example on my Beretta 92 Inox.

It is a 1977 Colt.

Nice old school 1911. I found myself not needing a whole lot of modern features in my 1911 too. A simple set of tall GI dovetail sights and extended thumb safety work just fine.
