Inspired by similar threads in...other Handgun subforums which shall not be named...and in light of the continuing permeation and ensuing domination of the P320 platform throughout every branch of the US armed forces and SOF community, I thought it would be a good idea to have a dedicated thread for the numerous P320 variants that are and will be utilized by our military for the foreseeable future. Anyone should feel free to post info, news, pics, specs, or sightings of P320 variants fielded by any part of the US military for all to learn about and enjoy, and of course as a central hub reference for clone builds.

Migrating over some of the pics from TCBA_Joe’s thread:

@Coregon - in the thread that inspired this one a few posters mentioned knowing of/seeing X-Five P320s in the holsters of some units, any details on that you could share?

I assume its a mix of familiarity with the glock, having more holsters/mags/whatever for the glock platform, possibly the size as the 19 is smaller/lighter, and potentially they shoot better or like the glock better. I'd be curious to know if they choose the glock because it is better, or if they choose the glock because they know it already and have all the accessories for it, or if its just because its the smaller gun. |

View Quote Those pictures were taken last year right after the team turned in their Berettas. I would assume its a combination of several factors. Too new, lack of additional magazines and holsters. Size could be a factor as you mentioned. Teams since then still carry the G19. Having chosen to leave them back at home station. CD CD |

@combat_diver
How are the mags holding up, they look well worn with the AFC finish coming off? Any issues with internal broken parts? Extractors, strikers, etc? Any issues with the modules? Any cracking or chiping? Sorry, durability stuff interests me. |

CD It will be intresting to see how they fair over the next 10 - 15 years in service. I was hoping most of the SF types would switch over to the M18 just to get a better idea of how it performs as they seem to put more of an emphasis on pistol marksmanship but it seems the Glock is still the preferred flavor of the day. |

Facebook sucks, but most units have neat photos they post on their pages. Here is the 2/502ND training back in 2019. My M17 surplus was turned in by this unit a few weeks after this was taken - maybe it’s even the one pictured

I saw on the page that LMD is "going out of production" on the PAiL so this is one of the last chances to get it. What that means? Who knows. I've tossed around the idea at picking one up as well. We will see what the Military decides to go with or if there is a new and improved PAiL coming. |

I finally had the chance to shoot a commercial M17 at a rental range a couple weeks ago. I haven't seen any Army pistols in person yet (and probably won't before retirement), but I enjoyed shooting it and would like to pick one up soon. It seems like they're sold out everywhere. Not sure if Sig is producing them in batches for civilian sales or just focusing their production on military contracts right now, but I'm guessing it's just the current craze. I'm going to keep an eye out for an APP pistol.
