I just put new Ameriglo sights on a Shield.  I'd read about the tight dove tail difficulty.  I used a Wheeler Engineering sight pusher.  No difficulty at all (after I remembered to back off the set screw).  It was a 10 minute project with said sight pusher.

That's good to hear.  I bought new sights but haven't installed them yet.

ETA Was this the 1st or 2nd generation handgun?

Glad yours went easy. I ended up needing to use a vise and a brass punch to install the front sight on one I did recently. Ended up cracking the front sight on disassembly.

Removing them is left to right IIRC?  I'm about to replace mine with HD's and may just bite the bullet and get that pusher.
Gunships around charge in the $40-60 anyway.
