Do you like the FN 509? Do you ever wish FN made a big-bore version of it? Well, this is your year!
Attached File https://fnamerica.com/products/fn-545-series/fn-545-tactical/ Leave nothing to chance with 18+1 rounds, setting a new standard capacity in .45 ACP. Suppressor-ready, with a threaded barrel and co-witness tritium night sights, this industry-first pistol is upgraded with the proven ergonomics of the FN 509® Tactical. Shooters can mount their favorite red dot optic in minutes, adding pinpoint control on command. Complete with the high-endurance striker and crisp, approximately 6lb. trigger pull, the FN 545 Tactical is what other big bore pistols want to be when they grow up. View Quote Attached File https://fnamerica.com/products/fn-510-series/fn-510-tactical/ The FN 510 Tactical carries an industry-first 22+1 rounds of 10mm Auto at the ready, giving you the stopping power you need to face any scenario. But holding all the power and capacity doesn’t matter if you can’t put all those rounds on target, so it’s made for pinpoint control – red dot-ready with a crisp trigger and unrivaled ergonomics. All the elements for a premium shooting experience are onboard, purpose-built into the most commanding defensive pistol available. View Quote I see the .45 in my future, tempted by the 10mm but I don't have ammo stockpiled for it. I'd rather have a 540 over a 510. |

I dont own any FN pistols but the 510 piqued my interest. My hangup is, they boast 18+1 for the 45, but thats with a magazine that extends past the grip. Wonder what flush fit capacity for each is. Would be similar to Glock advertising their 9mm guns as 33+1.
Interested to see reviews on the 10mm though! |

View Quote FN mentioned in their IG comments that 545 mags aren't interchangeable with FNX 45 mags, but in photos the bodies look the same. I'm curious whether the only difference is the baseplate or not. |

The banning or confiscation of weapons is a denial of the nature of Man, a pathetic attempt to avert the violence innate to Mankind, an insult to the Sacred Creed of the Murdercube.

The big knock on FN is that they come out with a new line of pistols every 5 years or so, which don't have interchangeability with the older ones. I wonder how it stacks up compared to a FNX, and how the trigger pull differs. |

I really wish they had just made an FNX10T but may try the 510 anyway.

AAR on FN510T:
Ran 54 rds of full power ammo (1250-1300fps. Pulled 180gr FMJ w/ 9 gr LS, CCI 350 and CBC once fired brass). About as snappy as a G20 Mags were a bitch to load and cartridge OAL is something to watch for (my reloads are ~1.26", some tolerance). Dry lube might help or just breaking them in. Nothing like your normal G20 mags tho. Round #21 and 22 particularly sucked to push in. Accuracy was there. I couldn't tell the difference between the stock trigger on my spare 509T either. Would benefit from an APEX. I think a gas comp is in order. A suppressor would work too. Overall very pleased. Not as pleased as I'd be if it was an FNX10T. My FNX45T was a pussycat next to this and more fun to shoot honestly. Barrel is fully supported by the way, no bulges noted. |

I put 150 rounds through mine this morning.
50 - 180gr Blazer brass, 50 - 165gr 40s&w Remington, 50 - 170gr PPU JHP. No hiccups, ran 100%. As stated above, mag springs are STIFF, will take some breaking in. Overall, very pleased. Will probably pickup a 545T too. |

Really cool idea. I just don’t trust FN not to screw me the way they did in the FNP-T. Next year they will tweak this design, move the mag catch, and blow these out on CDNN. Never early-adopt an FN handgun.

View Quote I would normally wait as well, but Colorado is looking at an AWB that would ban pistols like this. I've waited 10 years for an FN 10mm and I'll be damned if they're banned for sale here and I never get the chance to own one. I'm on the fence about the 45 ACP version. I have two FNX45T and about 15 mags along with spare parts out the wazzoo. (this is FN we're talking about). If most of the parts are interchangeable between the 10mm and 45 version, I might invest in one too. Attached File |
