The local Range USA gun shop, formerly known as Point Blank Shooting Range, is offering five free shots out of the new M&P M2.0 9mm Metal on 9/27 and 9/28 to the first 100 people. I'll try to make it over there and give it a test drive. This may also be offered at more stores. Yeah, five is not much but it's more than zero and free.

Metal is stock and poly has Apex flat trigger so not sure if that would add a fraction of an oz or not. |

I'm really tempted to get one of these and put my full size slide on it.

Thats marginally more weight than just having a tungsten guide rod, and substantially less weight then a 4-5oz weapon light. |

Anyone have their hands on one yet and want to give a review compared to a standard 2.0 core? If I want one I'll have to specifically order it sight unseen because the local shops won't just stock them due to the magazine capacity bs.

View Quote I spoke with Apex today and they’re currently checking into parts compatibility but their answer was to not purchase fire control parts or a barrel for the Metal until they have completed their testing. There are definitely some differences in the small parts designs both in the slide and frame compared to the poly 2.0. I’ve swapped slides and frames and the pistols functioned seemingly fine, but I have a feeling that Apex will end up with a specific Metal trigger/fire control parts package. I think the barrels will not need change though. |

I saw one at a shop was nice but there are a lot of good choices out there, price was 800 , I didn`t buy it . I have a older full size L/E package came with night sights and 3 mags , has all the upgrades for the build date ,never a problem also has a PVD finish in flat black over the factory melanite . this gun was ordered this way .I don`t think I will trade up for the new one .

For those of you who plan to purchase a new RMR for your metal, the sniper gray color looks really good on it. I’ve carried a 06 for years but went with the 07 and really like it. I was concerned that precise hits on my smaller 3” steel targets would be more difficult but I did not find that to be true.

My M&P 1.0s have been flawless. For the metal frame M&Ps, I'm a player at $600 or less. Beyond that, probably not.

Brought home a Metal 2.0 this week. After polishing the trigger bar, sear safety plunger and channel, the feel of the trigger is incredibly improved. Still need to get out and test the pistol. I have had issues getting a 2.0 with ACRO P2 to zero consistently, and that's still being troubleshot a bit.
I'm optimistic about the Metal. |

Anyone try a compact slide on a metal frame? I know it works on a regular 4.25 vs 4" but im curious if it works on the metal frame. You can basically get a g45 version of M&P. |
