Got pics ? Details ? What other glock is it based off of, size wise?
Glock 19 size, polymer/steel mixed slide for weight.
I'll grab one eventually for a fun gun but otherwise not a big deal for me |
I’m a Glock fan and I’m underwhelmed
Way too late to the party now A 10 rd size 19? Meh no thanks |
G19 size
10 round magazine No threaded barrel Yeah that’s an easy NOPE for me. |
Total fail. Most of glock’s customers are not 12yr old kids or 80yr old women. They claim to be listening to their customers but make a huge release for something we didn’t ask for. So disappointed.
Neat, hope it's a quality pistol. I'm sure the after market will scramble to come out with threaded barrel etc..
I already have a dedicated Glock with Advantage arms upper on it. 10 rounds.
I think there are 12 rounders for it out there. This is a nothing burger. I will probably pick up a used one. I am in no hurry. |

I don's see the point, there are a lot of other choices out there. I guess it will appeal the the brand whores.
Threaded barrel option at least

Quoted: One major complaint with the AA kits is that they are picky about ammo. Glock's web site says: "The G44 was thoroughly tested with a wide variety of ammunition to ensure maximum performance and redefine what small can do." If they are a lot less finicky about ammo and threaded barrels become available, I can see them being popular-even more so if someone comes out with a higher capacity magazine. View Quote Any rimfire firearm is picky about shitty ammo. |
Seems to me they are about 30 years late getting in to the 22LR market.
If it's truly reliable and the threaded barrel is appropriately priced, I'll likely pick one up.
I have a 19 frame hosting an AA slide with threaded barrel which is my favorite 22LR host, but it IS a little picky with ammo. If this design is a winner, I'll toss the 19 slide back on the frame and sell the AA kit. Definitely not a "WOW factor" release, but will make a great suppressor host if it runs - AND that AA kitted glock is my go-to for training new shooters on a handgun platform without introducing fear and flinch. Besides that it's just plain fun... My BIGGEST concern is that it doesn't get marketed as a viable defense platform "for the ladies".... |
The appeal to me of this type of .22 has always been the commonality of form and function with larger caliber pistols. I see it as a great option for training kids and other first time shooters on a caliber that will allow them to develop the fundamentals without being thrown off by the noise and recoil. Back when I was primarily a SIG user, I grabbed a Mosquito thinking that it be a great training tool. It was a terrible, unreliable pistol. Now that I’m a dedicated Glock user, I see this pistol as a great option for introducing my young kids to handguns through a model that will allow them to transition to my 9mm Glocks when they get older and more competent with the platform.
I've been wanting a new .22 pistol. But, I'm not excited
bout this G44. It doesn't seem to stack up against Taurus "TX". I think one would get more bang for their buck w/the Taurus. |

Quoted: The directions from AA specifically say to not use a particular brand of ammo. If you use decent quality ammo and not shitty bulk pack, you have better results with any rimfire firearm. Any rimfire firearm is picky about shitty ammo. View Quote Sticking with AA for now. Especially since you can buy one no FFL and they take Glock standard sights and have a variety of models. Almost any double stack frame gen 3 through 5. And the AA has 15 and 25 rounders (for the 25 rounders to work it needs to be CCI and the gun clean) |

It's interesting that the slide in the picture above says "Austria" on it. I wouldn't have thought it would make enough points to be imported and they'd have to make it domestically.

So the model name is “44,” but it’s actually a .22
Good job Glock. |

Bingo, same exact use case here. My son just started shooting and I’ve been using a SW MP22 Compact which is a great gun but everything else I own is a Glock so I’d prefer to keep things consistent. This is a great gateway gun for new shooters. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

More info here:
https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/12/10/glock-44-22lr/ Says possibly releasing 15 round magazines also. And msrp of $400. |

I think it is a fine offering.
Some of you guys are shitting on it because it is Unexciting. A .22 that is a near clone of your carry gun? I don’t get the disdain. Sure it isn’t the mythical glock pistol caliber carbine but it is a cool little trainer. I wish they didn’t go with the metric threads on the barrel and the supplied M9 to 1/2” adaptor. Just make the standard American thread for the US market and the M9 for Europe and other metric places. CZ rimfire rifles after years finally switched from metric to inch threads. When I move to the free world after retirement I am getting one and suppressing it. I am not a Glock fan, not a hater either, more neutral. I just picked up a CZ Kadet topend (.22lr) for my P07. I haven’t shot it yet but my initial impression is I like it better than a G44. Sounds like the G44 has the potential to be a great suppressor host. |

Genius move by Glock to keep the famous/infamous "function over form" styling of their centerfire pistols.
You either love or hate how Glocks look, and this pistol won't change anybody's opinion. Glock shooters will love the familiarity.... and I bet they sell boat load of them. |
ISSC gave them the blueprint years ago and Glock still blows it...
My AA kit on my G19 lower runs just fine.... It's been great for cheap plinking / training and introducing new shooters. Glock is late to the party, once again!

Customers have only been asking for over 20 years for a carbine, just saying.

...seriously? You know it's successive model numbers right? And it's the 44th model? Caliber has nothing to do with the model number, and never has. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I like it as well. It'll be great for practice, getting my little guys shooting handgun and new shooters. I'll definitely pick one up.
