Safariland recently released the Staccato XC line of ALS RDS duty holsters. They are lightbearing for either the Streamlight TRL1/HL or X300. I can happily confirm that a 5 inch government length 1911 with light and RDS fits and locks without modification.

Previously I had tried a modified M&P lightbearing RDS with a little heat gun love. It works, but it's nowhere near as smooth or consistent in the lock/unlock. Glad to finally have a Safariland solution.

PART6390RDS-2582-131 for those who need the righthand STX black. Black and multicam available now.

Do we know if this fits a single stack 1911 5” with RDS? Just curious. I think the 2011 frames may be a bit wider, but the slides are similar, so maybe…

Fits my Nighthawk GRP Recon  in .45 with a dot and a light. Smooth and positive lock and release.

Just got mine.

For anyone curious, works great with my XC, and my threaded barrel P.

Is your GRP a single stack frame or a double stack?

Also….the ALS mechanism is different.  It looks like the “ears” that SRO owners had to file down have been removed.

I don’t have one to test, but I’m *guessing* this one will be SRO/RMR HD compatible.

According to the info Trijicon put out on the RCR and RMR HD, they fit the 'current' 6xxx and 7xxx holsters.
They must have changed the ALS levers.
I'll be interested to see if I can get an SRO in mine without modification... just got the holster, about another month or so on the XC I have incoming.

I had to modify my 6xxx for my Stacatto P so the SRO would fit / lock.

I received my holster today to use with my Platypus. It works pretty good. It locks in and seems secure. There is a little up and down play but it does lock. The draw is nice and smooth. Only problem is inserting the gun into the holster is tricky. It has to be lined up perfect. The bezel of the light tries to hang up. When everything is lined up it goes in just fine. I think it is going to work great.

The gun is a commander length Stealth Arms Platypus with threaded barrel with standard length railed dust cover, traditional profiled slide, Tlr1hl, and Holosun EPS Carry.

It will break in a bit with some use.

Also, can confirm, RMR HD works just fine in these.

@Marksman14

You were right! Perfect fit.

I’m gonna grab one for an SRO equipped Zev…has it been confirmed that the new RDSO models will fit an SRO. I know it’s not 1911 but can’t find anywhere discussing these holsters!
Thanks!

The holster for the XC will also fit an SRO.

However, I ordered an RDSO for my standard staccato P 4.4.

It came with the older locking mechanism that was NOT HD/SRO compatible.  They are in the process of changing over to the new HD/SRO compatible locking mechanism, bit not ALL RDSOs are getting them yet.  Between me and my buddies, we have 4 XC holsters, all have the new ALS mechanism.

I returned it, ordered another XC Holster, and got a barrel plug extension from OT defense so that the barrel was what limited travel, not the optic on the ALS mechanism or the light on the base of the holster.
