Countless 1911s of many flavors. I can find love for most, but this is my favorite pistol.

Fine looking gun you have there.

I have g10 grips on my 1911 but something about double diamond wood on a .45 is just right.

I spent years shit talking Baer based on not liking Les or the look of his guns or a bunch of other nonsense.  Decided to actually shoot a Baer one day and now I own three.

No handgun looks as perfect, to me, as a well worn Les Baer TRS.
I have owned many handguns.  Many that I've really enjoyed and shot extremely well.  None of them caught my eye like the first worn blue finish Baer TRS I saw.  I knew I had to have one.  I finally purchased a brand new TRS earlier this year.  Such a nice shooter.

I own or have owned Wilsons, Browns, Novaks, Wessons, Colts, Kimbers, Springfields, and Nighthawks.

Something about Les’ guns just does it for me.

Fine looking 1911 there. The older I get and more firearms I go through, guns with blued steel and wood grips/stocks are the one's I love the most and hang on to. Starting to understand now why my dad didn't have many "cool" guns when I was growing up. Just a bunch of older stuff.

So, les Baer has these on the site for 1700, but I can’t find one less than 2k online really. What’s the actual price? Do you order straight from Baer? This is relevant to my interests

Search "Crazy John" or 1911heaven.  He's the man to order from.  There is a Baer TRS with no front serrations for $1800+. It's the last one in stock.  He has many Baers in stock.  John is a friendly guy and if you call he will talk your ear off.

I took the advise a while back to call "crazy john" about a Baer and he didn't do me any favors on pricing. Have seen the model I was looking for go for several hundred less recently. Not that he doesn't ever have deals, but not that day.

Les Baer TRS for sale right now in EE for $1500.  That's a great deal

Thanks, man. Haven't even had a chance to shoot the Tac-14 HW yet. Surprisingly well put together, though.  Remington's putting in some effort.

@THR-Thumper shit that's a stock Tac 14 hard wood? It looks way too nice to be modern production remington. I think you may have just cost me $400

I really really wish I had gotten a TRS with no front serrations before Les dropped the TRS's. The TRS logo and no serrations was the sexiest looking Baer.
Also wish I didn't have to sell my TRS commanche.

Guess I my UTC will have to do it for my blued gun.

I've heard that. I really like the hardwood tac14s.

I have a nice new Wilson CQB sitting in the safe, 3 mags through it.  Can't stand it.

Although the UTC 9 has sort of left a bad taste in my mouth, I kind of want a Mono with fixed sights and no FCS in 9mm to go with my group.
They are no where near as nicely finished as a Wilson, but they are damn accurate and just something about Baer guns feels good in the hand. Like they have soul or something.

Oh, I love the Wilson CQB too...just not as much as I love the TRS. It just seems to have more soul.

The TRS is the gun I choose if I could only have one 1911...

... but for 9mm, I love the STI 2011's...

My favorite 1911 as well. All covered in oil and carbon with my Springfield Professional that I still have not really warmed up to.

This guy is a very early 3 digit serial number Hillsdale gun.

@ken_mays Ken I think yours is the pistol I've been drooling over for years. I feel like I saw a bunch of it on the 1911forum, no?

a worn Baer looks better than any other gun I can think of, and it's cool to realize the work that went in to making it that way.

Maybe.  There was another guy named USMC-something who would post a lot of photos after every few thousand rounds in the LB sub forum.

Nice pistol OP.
I've got it bad for a UTC w/o FCS. I thought 2018 would be the year I finally get one. Perhaps the spring of 2019.

I, personally, don't like front slide serrations on a 1911. They are tastefully done on these Baers though.

I've been a Colt 1911 guy through and through for many, many years, but I have to say, these Baer pistols are starting to awaken a desire in me.

I'm not usually a big fan of angled slide serrations or forward cocking serrations, but in the case of the TRS/UTC, I believe I could just about live with them.

Damn, you guys are gonna make me spend some deployment money.

My soon to be carry gun came with Hogue rubber grips, functional but they looked cheesy and cheap.  Replaced them with a set of wood double diamond grips and it looks classy, huge improvement.
