First I have to say I have the greatest family on the planet. My wife had a chef from Ruth Chris cater and cook for the surprise party. My mother, father, brothers and long time friends were there. She even had everyone follow Covid protocol since I officially became a Senior in my BSN program on my birthday and she does not want anything to screw up my final year in school. What a great woman.

At the end of the great meal came a few gifts, but none as special the Gen 5 G19 customized especially for me. My brother and I both retired from the Navy on the same day and he headed up the customization on the gun. It has my rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer on the left grip, the “DON’T TREAD ON ME” flag on the right grip, the Caduceus medical symbol on the top of the slide, from my time with USMC as their corpsman and nursing school, 50 years on the left side of the slide, and my DOB on the end plate. The laser engraving and slide cuts are beautiful. The double undercut of the frame makes the gun point naturally for me as I tend to point high with Glocks and the weighted base plates makes the gun feel a little more balanced. I was floored and all the crazy questions asked of me over the past few months finally made sense. My brother is a great guy and told me last night he has had the gun for the past few weeks and it was hard not to tell me about the secret.

Enjoy the pics. It is almost to pretty to shoot.

I forgot to add the kids also gave me a Holosun 507c x2.......what a great family.

I never thought I'd say this but "That's a BEAUTIFUL Glock!". It kind of stunned me because I'm used to seeing customized Glocks that come out looking like it was birthed by some sleazeball from that Jersey Shore tv show. This is the first customized Glock that wowed me in a good way.

I have never seen a "custom" Glock I liked...

that changed today. What an awesome build... I love it!

I bought a Glock 38 for myself when I retired. (Many years ago, 2006)

Could you send me an IM with the company (or companies) that did the work!

ETA... My father was a WWII Seabee. Though I enlisted in the Army, I am proud to say my father was a Navy Seabee!

Congratulations Devil Doc!

I personally loathe Glocks, as they don't point well for me among a myriad of other sins. But I gotta say, that is an exceptional looking handgun that you should be very pleased, grateful, and proud to carry.

Please let us know who did the frame work. That is just exceptional.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. To answer a few questions, the name of the company who did the work is Corded Arms. The laser texture is cut into the frame and is very grippy. The original color of the frame is black and I cannot find a flaw on the gun. The attention to detail is awesome. The slide is a light bronze which actually changes color from lighter to darker as the light hits it. Very cool.

I like my Glocks, but don't think I've ever seen one, either factory or custom, where I would say it is most excellent looking. But, you birthday present qualifies for that praise. May you shoot it in good health and great happiness.

You guys have been awesome. I took it for a little spin today just to ensure everything worked as it should. I only had time for 20rds, but they were 20 of my hand loaded self defense loads at a distance of 7-10yds. I’d say they did pretty well :D.

Really nice! ...

But just FYI, the stippling - or whatever it is - on the bottom of the mag's base looks awfully sharp and pointy. So,I'd be leery of giving it a hard slap with the palm of my hand on insertion into the magwell.

There could be a bloody imprint resulting ... just sayin'
