Got some Chip McCormick mags, old ones, that I want to use in an alloy/aluminum frame pistol.  I know not to do it as the follower can tilt forward and eventually jack up the feed ramps. I figured I would replace the guts with either Wilson or Tripp Research.  Has anyone done this?   Is doing so good to go for an alloy framed 1911?

thanks

I think CMC has a no-tilt follower you can get for just such a situation.  Try their web site.

They do.  I used CMC mags for many years and picked up a couple of their railed mags when they first came out.  But at $37 a pop I'd be tempted to go with the Tripp Super 7 springs and followers.  They make an already good magazine exceptional.
