This looks pretty awesome.  I have called a few dealers and so far no one has them or even knew about them.  Hope to find one before the first round gets snatched up and resold on gunbroker.

If it's anything like the USMC marked Colt 1911's they will go for a premium.

Kind of want.  Surprised SIG actually got them back.

I'm guessing a painful price tag.

Interesting it's only being offered as a CPO, so it only caries a one year warranty.

Can we preorder with the LEO/Mil pricing or do we have to prove LEO/Mil creds as specified on your website?

Not all prior service members are eligible.

From their website.  Eligible persons are...

- Military: Active, Reserve, NG, Retired, Medically Retired, and Service-connected Disabled Veterans
- Law Enforcement: Federal, State, and Local Active or Retired Sworn Officers
- Corrections Officers including Parole and Probation Officers
- 1st Responders: Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMTs
- Commercial Pilots and Federal Flight Deck Officers
- Court Judges
- District and Deputy District Attorneys
- NRA Certified Firearms Instructors with current certificate of training

So those of us who are veterans, but aren't retired, medically retired, or have a disability, are just shit out of luck.

Yep I’m just a lowly regular veteran too. No special status for me, guess I’ll have to find one somewhere else.

The going rate appears to be $699 for those planning to order through one of the many online shops selling as an intermediary from a distributor. Have a date with my FFL tonight, going to see what he can do.

Not often a surplus military guns come to market. If you don't care about the military pedigree buy the commercial version, or buy another gun altogether. This isn't significant because it's a used gun, it's significant because it's an actual military gun and there is a limited supply.

The M45A1s are a $2k pistol. The USMC issued ones are going for several thousands, and it's not because it's a 1911.

Exactly. USGI Berettas would do the same thing if they were allowed to sell them. And you'd hear the same types of folks saying they're junk and not worth a bucket of warm spit.

Im super interested in this as a military firearm enthusiast, even if I have 2 commercials in the safe.

Unless something changed in the last 12mo the "work around" was to send them with the floor plate removed so they're a mag "parts kit.". Pretty much how all the high cap mags are sold in CO now.

According to a thread over on Sig Talk, about 1,500 of these might be released and a few more could come out at a later date. This is a fraction of how many M17 commemorative pistols were released (5,000), so these will be quite the collector's item! I wouldn't be surprised if they started changing hands at $2k+ once they're sold out.

I've prepaid for a few with my local dealer. If you're looking for a dealer, Google search for a Sig Elite rated dealer. There's only about a dozen Elite dealers in the country and according to Sig Talk they're the only dealers receiving these surplus guns. The non mil/le price is $843.

Looks like I'm out then. Iowa sucks for dealers and no plastic pistol is worth north of $1000 for me.

Enjoy them fellas. Look forward to seeing them.

Doesn't the M17 have a take-down pin that requires a special too to disassemble?

Some of them did on the early ones for the military. It isn't all that special of a tool just a two pin screwdriver. a modified front sight tool for an AR15 will likely fit the pin holes as well or a set of round tipped needle nose pliers.
