Anyone used a RmR/red dot mount that uses rear sight dovetail? I want to try before I sink the money for a milled slide. I know milled will be better and I can go be poor elsewhere. But, any experience with a pistol using a dovetail mount?

Thanks.

I have a Springer on one of my M&P’s, and an EGW on my STI Eagle. Both are solid. Springer tapped right in, EGW had to be fit to the slide.

I had a dueck dovetail mount on M&P 45. It’s a solid unit and I never had any problems. I liked it because it has backup sights built in. Backup sights will help you find the dot when you first get into shooting with one. A little practice and ironing out presentation issues and you’ll only need them for backup. The dueck is more expensive than most dovetail mounts. It’s a little less than half the price of milling, new sights and recoating the slide.
