This gun is 45 years old with the “love em or hate em” large rollmarks on the original 70 series. Complete with box, papers, collet bushing etc..

An original 70 series on the right with high polish blue. A 72b serial numbered 70 series reproduction in the middle 2015 timeframe and finally the 73 b serial numbered 70 reproduction. The 72b repros had polished flats but not to the extent that the originals had. By the time Colt introduced the 70 series repros in the 73b serial range the flats came unpolished. Nice!!!! Somewhere in the stacks of 1911's I have a Series 70 9mm............
And now I'm going to have to haul out the Brian Bilby Comped Colt Commander and do some shooting................... I think I have some ammo somewhere. |
