So I've gotten a new kahr 9mm.

I've read the Lakeline aluminum followers make slingshotting the slide more reliable, decrease the liklihood of spare mags shedding rounds in your pocket, and also decrease nosedive feed jams. Sounds like the smart thing to do to replace the factory plastic humped follower with an aluminum flat follower. I also noticed kahr sells what looks like a flat-countoured aluminum follower. Is this part pretty much identical to the Lakeline aluminum follower? Looks damn close.

I also think I'm going to replace the poorly fitting metal baseplate on my short 6-round mag with a thicker better fitting (and looking) 7 or 8 round polymer floorplate. It doesn't have an unsightly gap and it looks like it lets you get maybe another 1/2" finger on the gun.

I believe Mag Guts followers do the same - flat metal. I haven't read of any major problems.

I have an older flat follower mag for my 4566 .45 S&W and it works just fine vs the later model polymer. Most of those flat followers did - I believe the industry change came about more because there was slightly better performance with some HP and costs led to it being chosen.

Best thing to do it try it and we'd like to hear how it's going.
