For that price I figured I would take a try.  It says excellent mechanical.  That is the most important to me.

Here is the link if you want.

Classic Smith and Wesson model 10 $219.99

Might be worth a reminder to folks that Classic also shipped out some Beretta 81 .32 ACP pistols that were at least a solid grade below what was advertised, some with substantial surface rust.

Not trying to say that that's not a great price (it is), but that it might be worthwhile to make sure you have sufficient steel wool and oil handy as a "just in case".

You are 100% correct.  Classic is the current day Southern Ohio Gun.  Remember their “slightly corrosive ammo” ads.  Lol.  Either corrosive or not

I picked up one from them at the show this weekend, blueing was fairly good, grips where very worn, beat up, but functions fine and lockup is tight.

tempted, I like the skinny barrel model 10's. The heavy barrel versions seem to not point so well.

I purchased one, a couple of my photos are in the customer images. I didn’t pick hand select, grips are extremely worn and finish is pretty worn as well. I was debating taking photos and asking on here wether the condition would be considered “surplus good”. Mechanically it looks good, and I purchased it to be a shooter. It looks like they only posted a couple of the photos I submitted, maybe they made the wear look worse than it was, I had the flash on for some, but otherwise it was difficult to see details.

I collect Model Tens.  That's the cheapest I've seen them in a long time.

I am tempted but the combination of classic firearms, century imports 50 year old revolvers and low cost sounds like just the combination to pull my hair out.

Ridiculously low price for a Model 10 if it is in good shape mechanically. No matter what it looks like.

I ordered one. It should be at my FFL today and I will pick it up tomorrow.

Not really concerned about the cosmetics and long as it is good mechanically.

I know an earlier Model 10 I bought used has the best trigger of any revolver I own (this will be my 31st).

I am sure part of that is it being old enough to be manufactured in a less litigious era and part of that was from it being worn in over time.

But I could not resist the price. I love older K-frames.

I must have hit the lotto of Classic Arms today.

Mine is in great shape. Just some slight bluing missing at the muzzle. There are minor scuffs and very small scratches here and there.

Locks up like new. I am pretty sure this one sat in the Armory most of its life

Grips look like shit but that is easy to fix.  Strip the finish, lightly sand and then spray with clear polyurethane

I ordered one.  A friend offered me 800 rds of .38 for dirt cheap when I mentioned I was thinking of picking up one of these.  It pushed me over the edge.  It's going to take a while to shoot it all up.

After reading this I just my pull the trigger on one of these Police Trade-In's. Ugly but more than serviceable for +P around the house go to. I keep a old Police Trade In Taurus Model 83 4" in my un-heated garage. Paid $139 for it in 2005 I believe. Can't beat a good revolver in 38spl with +P loads.

That would make a great night stand gun. I am tempted at this price.

Tempting.  After turning 21 my first handgun purchase was a 5" Model 10.

Thus far, seems everyone got their money worth.  I like the skinny barrel model 10's.

Had time this morning for a "quickie" with my Classic Arms 10-7. Such a lovely child.

Thanks.

I chronographed 5.2 of Unique with a 167 gr. SWCHP and it averaged 932 fps, 5.5 of the same under a 150 gr. cast SWCHP averaged 955 fps.

FYI, my carry load for the Model 10's is 10.5 of AL2400 and the 150 gr. soft cast SWCHP which averages 1062 fps.
