This is a really helpful thread. Now the ATF guy knows how much weight he has to carry when he comes for everyone's guns . . .

Well, my hope is revolvers will be the last to go. Really I'm hoping they won't go at all of course. Any of them. But we do know they've been bold enough to put capacity limits in the past.....

I'm not sure what that technically is? I never heard of an M1905.....
I looked over at smith and wesson forum and then googled it, but I'm calling it a Military and Police Model of 1905....... Very nice. |

Actually, that's probably a good point. But I think if they're coming for them, they're coming for them. Regardless of where they're posted online. They will probably make you be a law breaker by holding any back that they don't know about.
Lets just hope it doesn't come to that for a long long time. As far as this database goes. If someone makes a list of what they have weighed, there's nothing to stay they still have any or all of those guns. But I see your point. |

Quoted: Well, if a person is at all concerned about personal security, there are probably more negatives to posting photos of your guns on a public forum than there are positives. Oh, I do it, too. I have posted lots of photos of my guns on the Internet but somehow I draw the line at hauling out all my handguns and cataloging them for all to see. Even if the ATF doesn't take notice, the local break-in artists might . . . plus, I generally don't reveal all even to my gun buddies . . . Paranoia is probably the right word, though . . . View Quote You post gun photos too - this pretty much invalidates your argument, you are as guilty as I am. hauling out all my handguns - nope, did not do, not even saying that all of them are mine. Just posted photos of guns on a scale (yes, the scale is mine). Damn sure didn't haul out every pistol I own. The ATF - yes, they keep an eye on forums like this, they are looking for self incrimination on the fun stuff. Really and truly, they don't care how many antique revolvers I own as long as I am not a felon or post messages about wanting to perform criminal acts with them. If the day comes for general confiscations, the class III stamp, my CCL and a long history of hunting licenses pretty much tells them that I have guns AND exactly where I live. In the big picture, a few pretty photos don't really matter. I generally don't reveal all even to my gun buddies - neither do I, when I finally keel over, my heirs are gonna shit. My best friends and even family don't know what I got, it simply isn't any of their business. Local break in artist - a simple break in is one thing, completely demo-ing walls and bringing in a fork truck to rip out the safe is a whole different thing. I do not keep guns in the attic or under the mattress. Hanging them over the fireplace for all to see is flat out. Try to relax man, the whole world isn't out to get you. MLG |

I had an opportunity to buy both...the 21 at a heavy discount and the 22 at a fair price...I went with the fourty-five.
My coworkers at the time poked fun at me for owning a shiny "pimp" gun. Screw 'em. I carry it on occasion with those grips...it is surprisingly comfortable and relatively easy to hide in a pancake holster. It's no safe queen. I run it hard from time to time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_EPsKZhoXw |

It's funny how it's 2 ounces lighter than my 6" model 19 and probably balances a heck of a lot better. I love the idea of a .44 special but dang is factory ammo expensive. And .45 is not cheap either. .38 is a stretch as it is. LOL. Except I have about 600 rounds of .45 acp just sitting there. Makes me want a 22 or 1917. |

But, yeah, that gun is perfect whether for shooting or carry use. My only complaint is that extraction gets sticky after about a hundred rounds or so of rapid fire. I don't carry it all that often only to preserve the finish. |

View Quote I purchased it new but did have to send it back under warranty for occasional failure to fire issues. It's been a long time and I don't remember for sure what they did to fix it but I don't think it involved replacing the thumb piece. Both of the S&Ws belonged to family members that purchased them for self defense way back in the day. |
