But that spongy Gen 1,2 & 3 trigger.

ETA: It is in damn nice shape for it's age.

Sure you can. C'mon now. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

That is a steal of a deal at $350, looks nice and clean. I would have got it just because, even though I'm a Glock fanboy at heart.

Very nice pistol, a Friend bought several the the value line S&W.   The 908 & 909 were my two favorites.

Collecting (fine) goods aint like drinking booze or doing drugs.

It's an addiction where you get to keep the goods - they have a value - you don't simple shove shit down your throat.

It's good!

No spongy trigger here, and $249OTD with 3 mags.  Original 59, and not a scratch on the grips.

Miami_JBT, I had a 915 when I did security work in the 90's.  I got it the day after the AWB took effect in 1994 for $299OTD with 3 mags.  The shop had 4, and a city cop bought the other 3.  IIRC, the 909 and 910 were the same gun as the 915, and mags would interchange.

I don't like to admit it really, but the trigger on the S&W 1/2/3 Gens isn't particularly crisp in DA. It's a thing. If you compare to 1911s, CZs, SIG P210s, etc it's not going to measure up. It is better than the vast majority of the polymer guns, but that's not saying much.

I have your 909's grandpa in my safe.

eBay will have lots of gently used 39 series leather holsters for $20-$30. Mag pouches, too. Of course, they might be a little long for a 393. Look for the open bottom ones that aren't barrel length specific.

If you can't stand looking like a cop from 1987 with a black basketweave leather holster, or sideburns-sporting cowboy with a George Lawrence or Hunter model brown leather one, I recommend an Aliengear. They do make holsters for the 3913 specifically.

I recently bought a 469 from a neighbor and I was really surprised how good the trigger was.  My only other gun of the era was a Model 59 years ago which had a pretty good trigger.

This little 469 impressed me and the super short crisp trigger reset surprised me.

I had a S&W 457, IIRC the value version of the 4516.  Reliable and very accurate, just didn’t fit my hand and balance properly for me. I eventually traded for something else.
