Need ideas! AIWB is normal for me, but 's there anything easier or simpler, so I don't have to wear a belt?

I've nevery used a belly band. Would it hold a Shield snug while running, and not bounce all over?

The best belly band style holster, IMHO. I've tried cheaper and more expensive. These are in the higher price range for sure, but I like them. I would suggest opting for the 'bra' type closures over the velcro. Just make sure you buy the right size, they will adjust a little bit more/less, but try and get as close as possible. Oh and I also use a kind of 'MIC' trigger holster with mine. Just loop the para-cord around the belly-bands holster compartment, then when you draw it will automatically pull the trigger-guard holster off and leave it attached to the band. Just for added security, you may not think its necessary, but I've read at least one story where a guy was shot by his dog, yes dog. While playing around wearing a belly-band, the gun was holstered properly, but the dogs paw got into the trigger guard just right and it went off. Luckily he survived and made a full recovery. But with an actual hard cover in place to protect your trigger, you will eliminate one potential problem. |

Does the pistol wear pt-2 bounce much while running? Does it seem large and bulky under the shirt?

I just wear a belt snugly over the outside of my running shorts. I added a small binder clip to keep the belt from wanting to rotate the gun forward of where I wanted it- just clipped the belt to the shorts.

I carry a Shield in a belly band. Best solution I have found to date

View Quote Crossbreed sells one that has a kydex insert for just about any pistol, they sell extra inserts too. They run about 70 bucks https://www.crossbreedholsters.com/modular-systems/belly-band/modular-belly-band-package.html Unity Tactical also makes their Clutch belt which fits a wide range on pistols and inserts for other gear(pistol, rifle mags, medical, etc) but they are pricey(150 plus dollar range) http://www.unitytactical.com/product-category/clutch/ |

Hill Country People Runners Bag. sits over your upper chest.
It has an elastic No-Flop strap to keep it from bouncing. Plus you can put your car - house keys, phone, sunglasses, sunscreen and other stuff in the front of bag on the jog. With the headphones coming out of the bag, I've never gotten a recognition that I was carrying. I have had some folks ask where to get a bag like that, as it keeps your hips and back clear for running or riding. The no bounce strap keeps it steady and it works for kayaking, bicycling, hiking and a lot of other outdoor uses too. |

This might not be all that helpful, but out here in the mountains I've started wearing a Spiritus Systems chest rig. It has won out against my Hill People Gear for comfort and accessibility. There's not usually anybody around to give me weird looks, except my marsoc retired neighbor.
It doesn't bounce around enough to notice and keeps a few items handy for me on my trail runs. My electronic dog receiver control sits in one of the mag loops next to a Glock 19 extra pistol mag in the front loop iphone under the velcro half flap Feels like over kill, but it was all handy when my dogs jumped a pissed off Coyote mother on her den in the long grass. |

I got a Bianchi Fanny pack back in 91' that still seeing service today. I use it down range when running. Course those locations require a large hi cap gun such as a M9 or G17. Normally didn't carry the 1911 in it running as I like the extra rounds. Downside to it is that it bounces. Besides two legged vermin also had to deal with lions and hyenas in Africa.
Running stateside prefer my old Bianchi Belly Band. Slip in a Smith 442 and it stays put under the shirt/shorts. CD |

My only complaints are that the draw is not that great and reholstering is even worse. Those are the compromises that you make with a belly-band though, it isn't the holster's fault. If only they would make the spare magazine pocket large enough to fit a smartphone in... |

Just started running with a Unity Tactical clutch and G43. It works. The problem is more with workout shirts which cling, also thanks to the wind pressing the shirt against you. Had to buy some larger dark colored patterned workout shirts as well.

Pistol Wear is what you want. Wife runs with a PT-2, I borrow it when I get my ass out running because it’s comfortable. It does print with a shirt over it at least someone knows you’re carrying something.
I’ve been looking into the Crossbreed modular belly band, looks like the best of both worlds. Kydex shell secured on a belly band but wonder if the gun will move while running. Belly bands are really the best solution IMO but the Hill People’s kit bag is a cool option but not discrete. Those remind me of fanny packs, might as well open carry with a chest rig. |

I've been looking hard at the PT-2 for running wear.
I use a Flipbelt currently. It holds my phone against the small of my back to stream music and an airweight Jframe in the front. I tuck the muzzle/cylinder into the belt and leave the butt exposed. I run 10K's with that and it hasn't been an issue yet. |

I just got a Pistolwear PT-2. So far I like it. It's comfortable and to my surprise it's the perfect size for my HK P2000SK which is more gun than I planned to carry when I ordered it.
I'm not sure about the little retention strap though. Not being an FBI agent I don't do handstands so it seems unnecessary. It just seems like it would slow down a draw at the worst moment when you have basically made a move than screams "I am drawing a weapon." I think it's best just tucked out of the way. Am I the only one? |

I run with a small fanny pack that carries a water bottle. The gun is counter-balanced by the bottle. I tuck it into my shorts to keep things from rotating. I also have a pockets for wallet, keys, and phone.
The trick is finding a fanny pack that allows you to have the water bottle on the left side if you are right handed. It's hard to find fanny packs at all now. My son tells me they are very uncool. |

Gave up on the Unity Tactical clutch and just went back to RailRiders shorts and my normal carry gear! Works great!

For my use it does not provide enough suck-in tension on the holster insert as say a belt does on an IWB holster. So under a running shirt that gets wet and pressed into the body by wind, the concealment provided was not adequate. Under the same shirt (which is very dark and patterned which should help), my standard AIWB in RailRiders shorts and a graith specialist belt was invisible.
I bought two Clutches and will probably sell one and set the other one up for nightstand use. Quoted:
Why did you not like the Clutch? @vandal View Quote |

Used to carry a 442 in a belly band, and just got tired of it dragging down and falling down after the 2nd or 3rd mile. I finally got one of those arm band pouches, the kind you can put your ipod or iphone in for running, but it's a little bit larger and I can get my Seecamp 32 or LCP into it.

I carry a pocket pistol in the pocket of my water carrier when I run (very rarely). I use a shoulder-slung water bottle holder. One of the runner fanny-packs would also work well.
AIWB while running would be a great way to wear a hole on your skin. And I love AIWB. |

The belly band I was using was a WRB (?) make and model. Maybe I didn't have one that was tight enough.

Ive got 3 marathons under my belt using a bianchi open topped horse hide leather , and a elastic belt by Nathan running gear, thing that holds my phone and cinching it tight. wearing a set of BJJ shorts under my running shorts stops chaffing(before i did that it wsa VERY painful doing 12 miles ), little if any bounce and secure as all get up. wife and I intereupted a burglary of a car(smashing in windows and taking things) , a suicidal guy on bridge trying to get in a position to jump, and a brown bear cub(but no mom!?!?!?) on the trail. I was VERY glad i was carrying for 2 of those, 3rd was 50/50.

I use the Hill People Gear kit bags. I have a snubby kit bag for running around town that I carry my Hk P30sk in and it doesn’t bounce around at all. It’s black so I never get any crazy looks. I use a heavy recon kit bag for what I refer to as power hiking in the hills. I carry a Glock 19x with 3 mags in it along with a phone. The power hikes involve more running than walking and the kit bag is very stable and comfortable. I don’t think I would care for anything attached to my waist while running.

I trained for two marathons using a Hill People Gear snubby kit bag. It's a great piece of kit and later I paired it to a Haley Strategic flat pack to carry water and some other items.
