I'm getting about .020" after chambering a round.

The gun is a Dan Wesson Valor 1911, the ammunition is Sig V Crown 180gr JHP.

Thanks

I'd only worry if it was like REALLY noticeable.  If you have to use calipers...non issue.

Yes, just once.  I have another 1911 in .45 and I can load the same cartridge 12 times and get a total set back of .005"

I guess I'll need to try a different brand of ammo so I can rule that out.  No others at the moment but I have some coming soon.

I just took another brand magazine (Metalform) and chambered a new cartridge 10 times and had no measurable set back.   Fed smooth with no ka chunk.

I got the initial magazine (Tripp) and chambered a new round 10 times.  Coal went from 1.260 to 1.259.

Each bullet was a factory Sig V Crown.

It must have been a week crimp on that first round that got set back so far.

Weird.  I guess it can happen, though.  Even with factory ammunition.  But who knows.  Too many variables.

Is setback caused by a loose crimp or improper heads pace?  Or neither just repeated chambering of the same round?
