I've switched to an optic for my home defense guns but haven't spent the money to get my slide mailed on my carry gun yet. For those of you who carry concealed with an optic, does the I think itself have much of an impact on the comfort of cary? Yes I know it's supposed to be comforting and not comfortable but I don't want to spend a bunch of money getting my slide mailed only to find out the optic jams in my side and I can't use it

I have two optic equipped guns that are my primary carry weapons: Hellcat OSP with a Holosun 507K and PF940SC (P80 G26) with a Trijicon RMRcc.  On occasion I carry a PF940C (P80 G19) with a Holosun 507C.  All of them are carried at 3:00 IWB (JM Custom Kydex IWB3 holsters for the all).

I don't notice any difference in comfort between the optic equipped pistols and my non-optic equipped pistols.

Carry’s the same. I Just put a Romeo Zero on a S&W Shield.
However..
I hate IWB holsters with a passion along with kydex.
87% of the OTW holsters for optics ready subcompact  firearms are dog shit.
No idea if the IWB ones are better.

All the fucktards had to do was make a relief cut/notch for the optic to slide into the same holsters they already make. Slightly alter the belt loop position.
Instead the morons merely shortened the entire top of the holster…and it’s never short enough.
I bought 3 so far. "Optic holsters" ..bullshit. The fucking optic hits the edge of the holster before the gun seats fully down into the recess for the trigger guard. By a full half inch. Most of them you can’t alter because the belt loop cutout is too high.

I got a knife and sheers. Leather 1791 optic ready..Altered it myself. It’s perfect now.
It’s fuckin ugly but concealed is concealed.

I carry AIWB. The optic has no bearing on comfort for me. I don’t understand people that say optics make it bulky. Maybe if you had spare tire around your waist? No idea from my experience.

I carry a P365X and G43X with Holosun 507Ks, IWB @ 3:00, so I need a pretty steep cant.
So far no problem with the holsters I've been using (Galco, Vedder, Crossbreed)

Carry AIWB with my P320 full-size, with a light and RDS. I have had no issues with comfort or keeping it concealed. That said I am a large guy so that helps.

I carry at 7-8 with a compact P320 with an RMR and I can't tell any difference from my old SR9C.

I have no experience carrying an optic.

Matter of fact, I'm shopping around for one
to go on my G40.

Perfect.  G26 is what I'm carrying

Glock 19 with a Holosun on top.  Kaydex holster that fits the optic, but the gun shows under a tee shirt.  Open carry ok here so a printed gun is no biggie unless some snow flake sees it and then it tell them it is my "hell phone."

I have a spare tire and carry appendix with an optic.

No problems whatsoever.

Aiwb with an RMR for 4 years.   Didn't notice any change in comfort at first or since then.

AIWB with RMR, 508T, and now 509T. I don't notice a difference at all. If I still carried IWB Strongside then maybe it would matter more.

I like it. The extra size/weight is nowhere that matters and the confidence of a medium/small gun with a dot is inspiring.

My 43x isn’t cut for a dot yet, but as you can see, the dot would sit just above the belt line, so like others have said, it doesn’t impact comfort

See where the dot sits on this “g19” sized gun, will not bother you at all

Or this Arex Delta

For me it's not different than carrying without an optic.  This is a C&G holster gor a G19 with a TLR-7A that was cheap, in stock, and optics ready.  I added a velcro wedge to it and it does exactly what I beed it to.  I'm 5'11" and 190lbs.

Makes no difference in AIWB. Maybe an SRO, but I haven't tried one.

I don't carry it up front but I carry IWB with a P07 and a Holoson (used to be an RMR but they are about the same size).

I have a spare tire.  No difference between a pistol with the red dot, or without the red dot for me.  Can't tell the difference in the holster.

Carry it just fine. Don’t notice a difference between my non MOS G19.5 and my MOS G19.5 with RMR.

I remember carrying it for the first time after I got it dialed in. Went to Dave and busters during my sons bday. Had no issues carrying it and playing most of the games with him.

I have a Holosun 508t on a 19.5 MOS and I don't notice a difference with it vs my 19.4 with no optic.

Those of you carrying IWB at 3:00-4:00 (or 8:00-9:00 on the left side), does the optic sit just above your belt, or inside the belt?

Ruger max9 is already milled for a red dot.

IWB at 3:00.  Optic sits above the belt for me on all three guns.  (Hellcat, P80 x 2)

No difference for me. Now I only carry AIWB and the occasional in a bag OTB.

I went with CHPWS plate and 509T

G43X for size comparison. It’s gonna be my deer gun this season.
