Holosun HS507C Review with 100,000 Hour Battery Life! Lenny Magill tries out the Holosun 507C, Part 1 of 2 Lenny Magill tries out the Holosun 507C, Part 2 of 2 https://holosun.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=49&products_id=61 I've had a couple of these on pre-order for a while, still hasn't shipped though. Noticed the 2 Lenny Magill vids this morning and thought I would share for those that do not know about this Optic. This optic supposedly has the exact same foot print as the Trijicon RMR. So, if you've got an RMR cut slide, this "should" fit. I have one RMR. If I'm ever in the market for another I would def look at this one.

I like mine so far, on a G17.4 and Dueck dovetail mount with around 400 rounds on it. The auto brightness isn't perfect but I like the circle-dot--it's easier to acquire, I think. My shooting under time pressure improved, anyway. I have a little trouble with the irons in that, with a proper front sight focus, the target gets so damn blurry I really can't tell if I'm out by a few inches.
It's also really helped my wife, especially since she had surgery that affected a big chunk of her field of vision. She shot her G19, then followed with the G17/507. Her left-right distribution tightened right up. She needs to improve her grip and grip strength though, since the shots were strung out in a perfectly-centered vertical line. I'll likely be getting hers milled directly for a red dot (this or an RMR) and may well get mine done too. |

Quoted: Not trying to give spoilers, but I'm happy to see the Holosun perform where it did. The results are definitely impressive. If I didn't already own RMR's I would be in the market for a 507c View Quote |

Only place I've seen the 507C available is on ebay from a German seller who is asking more than the $299 price tag I'm seeing for these units.
I have a dual illuminated RMR and I want to try a less expensive red dot as I need to buy 2-3 for pistols. |

Aaron's Sage Dynamics review is as thorough as can be.. good edit OP!

I got one of these optics and have to say, I am impressed. Granted this is my first pistol red dot but it is pretty sweet. I mounted mine to a Brownells slide and it fit snug as a bug. https://i.imgur.com/sgTDEMv.jpg View Quote |

I'm curious how tall the 507 battery box area is to an RMR battery box. Interested if RMR cowitness sites would work? |

Quoted: Thanks for sharing the photos! I have a question for you - in the photo, that 'eotech' reticle looks clear as day. However, I've always noticed that things look different in person than as a result of a camera lens. How clear is the reticle to your eye? I'm extremely curious because red dots tend to smudge/starburst for me. For example, my 3.25moa RMR on auto setting tends to be kind of a blob, yet when I hold a camera lens up behind it, it looks clear. I was afraid that the 'eotech' reticle was gonna become a giant blob if there was blur to it. View Quote |

Yeah, looks like you could go a bit shorter. Good stuff, hope these things really prove to be as good as RMR's in the long term.

I used the screws they came with the Brownells Slide. The screws from Holosun didn't match the threads on the slide. I'm not sure exactly what their thread pitch and all that is though.

I grabbed a Holosun 507 from Kenzies Optics for $269.99 shipped today. Got tracking # just now too.

Tagging in. This is definitely a different unit than the Vortex slide mounted RDS, right?

I had 2 little baggies of screws that came with my brownells slide
4-40 thread .255 x 1/4" and 4-40 thread .255 x 5-16 the screws that came witht he holosun didnt fit in the brownells slide i used the longer of the two that came from brownells 4-40 thread .255 x 1/4" |

Just got one for $200 from Optics Planet. Now that I read the reviews, I should have bought 3 of them....

What size screws are you guys using for a MOS plate? I heard the ones that come with the MOS plate kit are too short. View Quote Great unit, especially in contrast to the RMRs I have. Really a fan of the battery cover over the open back design. Also, the dot appears less blurry. Should have bought 4 of them. Dag nabbit. |

Had an RMR RM07 over 5 years ago. Went through three of them. First one failed after a little over a month (and a thousand rounds) when front element flew off on recoil. Replacement was DOA. Next replacement lasted a little over a year (intermittent brightness changes under recoil through duration) and failed (windage broke, dot moving side to side under recoil).
Gave up on a slide mounted RDS. Heard about the Holosun 507C several months back. Decided to try one out because of price and word of mouth, and was able to acquire one just a couple weeks ago (Kenzie's Optics). Threw it on a Brownells RMR cut G19 slide. Ran a few hundred rounds and it seems to be functioning fine. I'll know more on durability if it's still going after another 1500 rounds or so. Note: I may try a Trijicon RMR Type 2, but was hesitant to drop another $500+ on one. HS507C runs $300, but still less than $500. I considered a DPP but I did not like how tall a front sight has to be in order to clear a Glock slide mounted DPP compared to with an RMR (which is too tall already). https://www.ocabj.net/holosun-507c-red-dot-sight-review/ |

Quoted: What screws did you use? I just got a Holosun 407c (red dot only, not a circle dot) and the screws that came with it are too big for my Brownells slide. The screws that came with the Brownells slide are too long, so the Holosun is still loose with the screws cranked down. View Quote |

Hello,
What screws did you use for your HoloSun? The screws heads on the screws supplied by Brownell for the side were not big enough. When I tighten them down, the sight is still loose. Any help you could provide would be great. |

I had no idea about the 509. I'm running a 507 on my 19mos as i prefer it to my rmr. Not doubting the rmrs toughness of course but I think its reliable and like the reticle far better.

I have one on my p80 build. Not a single issue this far. Enjoying it.

With the 509 right around the corner, I think we'll be seeing these blown out for pretty good deals now/soon.

Anyone having any problems with theirs?
I've got 2, and my first one just died. Roughly 2500 rounds or so. 2nd one is doing fine so far, about 1200 rounds. I would like to see some reticle options, the circle dot is too busy, the 2 MOA dot by itself is pretty usable, but tiny. I would really like a dot only option with a 4 MOA dot. The battery cover is awful. Cut a slot for a coin or flathead, that little spanner wrench is obnoxious. |

Has anyone heard anything about the 508T? Blacked out logo and Ti body.
Steve Fischer posted about it on IG. Steve's reviews are really the only reason I'm ingested in picking up a Holosun for a pistol MRDS. https://www.instagram.com/p/BxIFkJGHNQc/?igshid=1v2acrzj99ea |

What is the performance advantage of the titanium 508, versus the 507? Does the weight of the 507 cause reliability issues with the host pistol?
Just not seeing why it would be worth the extra money if 507's are functioning just fine. |

Picked up a 407C from Midway for $229 shipped. The 407C is identical to the 507C except it only has the dot reticle, which honestly I prefer over the other options anyways...
