Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hogue P229 Aluminum Grips

Got a pretty good deal on some aluminum silver grips for my P229. But now Im thinking it's too much bling for a gun thats all black.  It just stands out too much.  What would be the best spray paint to paint it black?  Do I need to rough it up before applying the paint?

Any other suggestions/tips would be appreciated.
