Hello,

I'm hoping for some advice regarding repairing my old High Standard Sport King, (Model M-103 I think but it isn't marked anywhere that I can see). I bought it new in the early 70s and have shot it alot and the barrel wore thin under the extractor to the point where a cartridge case ruptured and blew a little piece out of the barrel in the thin spot under the extractor.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding where I might get a new or used replacement barrel or get the old one repaired somehow? I would prefer to have a 4.5" barrel with a front sight like the one that came with the gun but the longer barrel would work and I am open to suggestions since I don't see many options.

Thank you,
Brent Bowman

Start with Jack First Gun Parts. Located in Rapid City, SD.  Lots of small parts for High Standard pistols. Maybe a new extractor could take up some of the wear to help alleviate the problem.

And sometimes can get a complete kit minus receiver from here:

Thanks for the info, the JackFirst site definitely had lots of High Standard parts, but unfortunately no barrels. I don't think a new extractor would help the situation much, the gun probably isn't safe to shoot anymore because pieces of brass from the cartridge case and pieces of barrel metal came out from the hole in the barrel on the last shot that I fired from the gun.

High Standard is selling parts in Houston TX. They have a 5.5" slab side in stock.

Perhaps a shop could mill the pistol and insert a sleeve?

Numrich shows a couple of repros in stock.  Not exactly the one you're looking for, and not cheap, they it's an option.
