I have a Rossi Model 88 in .38 Special. It’s also an Interarms import.
The Rossi Model 88 is the same as the 68, except it’s in stainless steel. Rossi began importing the Model 68 in 1978 and the Model 88 in 1993. they were discontinued in 1998 when Interarms closed its doors.
Rossi also made the Model 69 as a 6 shot revolver in .32 S&W and the Model 70 as a 6 shot revolver in .22 LR, all on the same frame.
They have a remarkable resemblance to the S&W Model 36. That’s not a surprise given the Models 68-70 and Model 88 were all made on tooling licensed from S&W.
Taurus bought Rossi and continues to produce some of the Rossi revolvers with Taurus model numbers. The 327, 380, 605, 856, 905 and 942 are all derivatives of the Rossi 68-70 and 88 series with minor cosmetic changes (full under lug, etc).
Completed GB sales show M68s selling in the $175-$315 range depending on condition.
