I always though the Hi-Point had an eerie resemblance to the HK VP.

Considered buying a used one.  I tried to like it.  Decided against it.  Expensive hard to find magazines and the trigger pull just beyond horrible.

Neat gun. I got to fire it once, trigger was fucking terrible but I can say i've shot it!

I’ve got a mint condition one with the original box and paper work. And about 5 mags
It’s ugly as sin, but it makes a great brick to throw at a bad guy should it fail to fire.

Thank you!  I had a chance to buy one once, passed and have regretted it.  I never noticed that this is the sidearm in Aliens.

Ridley Scott directed Alien and James Cameron directed the sequel Aliens.

I fired the VP70 for the first time at an HKPro shoot and I honestly thought the trigger was broken the first time I used it. The owner just started laughing and said, "The only reason I keep it is just for that reaction. I haven't fired that thing in ages but it's so damn fun to watch people pull the trigger the first time."

I was happy I only loaded 10 rounds in the mag

It could be the best pistol ever made, but if it had that same trigger I still wouldn't buy one.

Like dragging a cinderblock across sandpaper with my eyelids.

I have one. Have never shot it. OP is cool for this and the Beretta thread.

Resident Evil 2 is one of my favorite games and have wanted one since.

We have one with the burst stock in inventory at the job I retired from.  I will say it would run forever.  I would get the VP70 and the MAC11 out for every dog and pony show I did and the HK never skipped a beat.  I can't image how many mag dumps have been through it as fast as you could pull that crappy trigger.  David

I want one in a HK fanboy way. If I come across one local I will probably try my hardest to make it happen. Thanks for the info and culture on it!

That Trigger was SO Heavy & SO Long, that if you tried to mag dump, your trigger finger would be worn out before you ran out of bullets...

Owned one because it was HK and was Futuristic, but goes to show that the Future isn't always a better place...

As mentioned, the trigger, is not so much of a work of art. It is horribly and horrifically atrocious. It is the stuff of nightmares. I'm not kidding; you know those bad dreams where you are in a gun fight and you pull the trigger and it weighs a million pounds and the gun never goes off? That's the VP70Z trigger.

You're being too kind about that trigger, IMO. I finger banged one once at a fun show. Sweet fuck me jesus, that was a HORRIBLE trigger!

Didn’t know that. Thanks. Probably why I’ve never seen another one.

I have one, cause Aliens. I found the grip to be the slimmest I have handled. Very accurate, the trigger is heavy but very usable. The trigger goes straight back and does not pivot. I think that helps.

If they'd have put the VP70 magazine in the P9 they'd have been on the right track.

I'd buy it if it had a better trigger.

Preferably a 3.5-pounder.

I've never fired a VP70, but I can't imagine the trigger being worse than a Large Frame AMT Backup or a COP.
