Picked up a police trade in G22; field stripping it I forget to take out the empty mag and the slide was stiff coming off.
Can taking the slide off over an empty mag damage anything? Thanks

It probably was fighting the spring tension. As long as you didn't use a hammer it should be ok

I knew that was coming. I cleared it several times, inserted the mag I knew was empty to see if it would lock back, then eased the slide forward.
Without thinking about the mag still in I pulled off the slide.
Police trade in w good nite sites for $290
