I’m thinking of getting a new Glock model 44 in .22 LR. Any issues or concerns with them. I currently have a SIG Mosquito but it’s very picky on ammo, with it without a suppressor. Any help is appreciated or suggestions us appreciated!

Best 22 with a can both accuracy and reliability will be a traditional style gun like the ruger mark series, browning buckmark or my favorite S&W victory..
The 44 requires either an after market barrel, or oem threaded barrel plus adapter as they come with European threads. By the time you do all that, further ahead both cost and performance with something else.

The only reason to go glock 44 is if you are using it as a trainer for your centerfire glock you carry

You will need to buy the Glock 44 threaded bbl to go with the gun.  Aside from that mine runs great with a sparrow but has significant to me blow back.    I’d always want glasses on while shooting it and I get significant powder to the face.

Personally I’ll suggest a Sig 322 or Ruger MK xx as great platforms that accommodate MRDS for more effective sight picture.

The ones the dealer has have the extra threaded barrel. You’re getting 2 barrels, but the price is a bit more. I’m looking at this and an ATI Firefly. It’s a copy of the SIG Mosquito, which they don’t make anymore. Good reviews on it too. Thanks for the info!

I haven’t found ammo the 44 wouldn’t eat yet. No issues suppressed either. Hell of a fun gun

I have three Ruger Mk pistols and my 44 is more reliable than all of them. In fact, it’s the only .22 semi auto I’ve ever owned that’s run 100% with everything.

Excellent pistol. Eats everything. Accurate to boot.

The only downside is not red dot compatible, but it’s a great trainer pistol.

Run mine with a Dead Air Mask and it runs perfectly, w/o issue with all types of ammo.

Mine has been flawless with a Spectre II.

Again, thanks to all that replied with first hand info, from using tge items or watching someone using it. Sounds like the G44 might be my next purchase. Much appreciated!

I've been running a Silencerco Osprey Micro on my 44 since I got it. I've never had a malfunction.

Mine is heavy! Lol
Why not buy a mask?

It’s only 0.2 oz heavier than the mask.

I have one and the Warlock, which is the same can in aluminum. I like the tone, ease of disassembly, and the lack of FRP on a pistol.

My G44 has noticeable blowback while using my Checkmate.  Sig 322 has a less blowback than the G44 I think but still get peppered in the face.

All of this.

I’ve shot mine plain, with a Mask, and with a Hydra. I’ve had it since they hit the market.

I run mine with the SureFire 22 can. It's a fun range toy that everyone loves to shoot.
