15 Round Mag - Glock 43X / Glock 48 Looks like Shield Arms is working on a flush fit 15 round mag for the G43X/G48. This could be a game changer if you ask me. No info on their website yet. https://shieldarms.com/glock-43x-48-15-round-mag |

Okay, I’m interested. I snapped up a pair of mags when AIM got their shipment last week because I like spares, but if I can carry 15 reliably I’d be happier.

This will obsolete the g19. This will be the gun to have for decades to come. If it is reliable that is.

If this company can make a reliable 15 round mag for the 43x it would convince me to buy a 43x.

What is this sorcery and witchcraft? View Quote you have to remember, Glocks are insanely fat due to the polymer coated metal mags. You can take a PT111G2 and insert the grip frame inside a standard Glock magwell. The Taurus uses Sig Sauer P226 mags. Basically the G48/43X is the same grip frame width as a Taurus now and with METAL mags, you can fit a high cap in there just fine. Remember, the 48 frame is just as long as a G19. I'm sure you might even be able to fit a SD9VE mag in there which holds 16, possibly even a flush fit 18rd Mec-Gar for a P226. If Glock would just switch to purely metal mags, they could massively increase capacity in these "slimline" guns. |

I’m very lukewarm about the 43X and 48, and doubt I’ll ever pick them up given how happy I am with my 365 and 19.5.
If they had flush fit 15rd mags though? I’d buy the shit out of one. |

Is there room in a standard 43 mag that maybe they could do this to (to bring it to 8 or so)?

A game changer. 15 round single stack with the same length as the oem will destroy any competition. Shield Arms might be the first to offer but won't be the last. Glock 43x/48 will clean up the market.

This is awesome.
Hopefully the mags are made by Mecgar, or Mecgar releases some in the future. Really, this is what Glock should have done from the get go with their slimline series. The G43 should have had a 10rd mag similar to the Kel Tec P11 (which is 1" thick.) |

My biggest concern is reliability.
I'd rather have a 13 or 14 round mag that's 100% than a 15rd mag that's 99.5%. I've been okay with the the 2 or 3 ETS and Magpul mags I have, but I've heard others have had issues with all but OEM mags...so I sure hope these guys get it right. I was expecting mec-gar to win the race to a 13rd mag, and was shocked to hear this is a 15. NOTE: Glock mags aren't really "FLUSH" fit....I'd really love a 14rd FLUSH fit mag that didn't add any length to the gun (like a flush fit 1911 mag). |

I've yet to jump on the "slim single stack" bandwagon yet.. I know I know...but Mah Taurus' Yeah.but it's seriously gone well over 600rds and no issues... id like a 43x...probab!y someday..right now the g2..lcp..and g23 suit my needs fine. M&p shield in 40 is what I originally lusted after way before the 43 and 43x came out...they have dipped down to below used 43/43x prices so that's an upgrade i suppose to the Taurus |

Quoted: I dont think so. Even with a flush-fitting, 15 round magazine, it still can only take 43X/48 mags. The 19 can take 19 mags, 17 mags, and the 33 rounder fun-sticks, as well as this monstrosity: https://ii.cheaperthandirt.com/fcgi-bin/iipsrv.fcgi?FIF=/images/cheaperthandirt/source/mag-2421_1.tif&wid=575&cvt=jpeg I would say this would hinder future sales of the 19, but not make it completely obsolete. Course, once they start making 15 round mags for the 43X/48, I cant see someone not going, "you know... I wonder how many bullets a Glock 17/19/26 could hold with a magazine like this?" View Quote |
