For grins and giggles I thought I'd better jump on the panic buying bandwagon and purchase more 357 magnum ammunition. I usually shoot Remington 125gr High Terminal Performance JHP as a carry ammo in my carry 357 magnum revolvers ie. Ruger SP101 2.25" & GP100 Wiley Clapp 3" (and a recently acquired a 357 mag Speed Six 2.75"). So looked around the web and could only find this Federal Power Shok 180gr JHP. I believe it's more of a hunting round, but at $9.99 for a box of 20 might as well buy 500 rounds (now it's out of stock).
Anyone here have any experience with this ammo? I'm not that recoil shy but curious how it will react in my SP101 w/2.25" barrel. An attention getter I'm assuming. Muzzle velocity out of a 4" is 1080fps & 466ft lbs at the muzzle. So of course it will be a handful I'm guessing. Once ammo arrives I'll hit the range and test to see if I'll want to CCW this little beast, or use in my larger 4" and above I take in the field. Thanks.
