Been decades since I foolishly sold mine and, recently picked up a used one at the LGS for a good price.

I loved that little shooter.

IIRC CCI minimags RN's?

Proven loads appreciated.

if you are going to carry, that would be my choice... for practice the CCI Blazer has performed well in my M41 for steel challenge, CMMG conversion dedicated 10" barrel AR upper  for steel challenge, Advantage Arms conversion on my G17... the Blazer is under 4cents/round usually... haven't shot it in my M21a

Aguila interceptor 40gr rn is what I use exclusively in my 21a’s.

ETA: I have shot Winchester bulk and cci 36gr Mini mags when I shoot steel. The mini mags always go bang, but you get a few more mags out of the Aquila before it starts to choke up.

Mine seem to run the best with standard velocity 40grn round nose ammo like Blazer or Remington Thunderbolt.
CCI mini-mags run good as well.
I believe the 40grn bullets give just a tad more recoil and this helps cycling.

I've found the key to keep them running all day is to bore snake the barrel a couple of times after four or five mags.

My Ex's we used to run round-nose Minimags.

A few years ago when she had a stalker she was still using the same box; but I know she took it to the range since then.

Bought a new one and was trying some different ammo.

BPR is very unreliable. Many failure to extract. Leatherman Micra came in handy.
CCI SV just isn't quite enough to cycle.
Aguila super extra HV wasn't very reilable.
CCI MM 36g factory seconds - no problems.

Blazers and thunderbolt are high velocity FYI

I had the same pistol in .25 and can’t ever recall a malfunction. The old adage was that the 25’s tended to be more reliable than the 22’s and my experience seemed to confirm this.
My go to ammo that seems to work every pistol I have reliably is the CCI AR tactical.

I had one that wouldn't work with anything but Stingers.  I wasn't impressed.

The best way to get into a $1000 .22 pocket pistol is to buy a 21A, have the barrel threaded, and add Cromson Trace laser grips!

That said, I’d only use accurate ordnance for the thread job, and absolutely avoid anything High Desert a Dog.

The crimson trace laser grips are discontinued that might have to be a get lucky ebay find.... just won the gold accents on ebay for the 21a... as far as getting the barrel threaded, there is a well known gunshop about 20mins from me they do excellent gunsmith work and build custom 1911s... I was going to see what they say about doing the thread job... but accurate ordnance has a sale on the thread job right now... so we'll see.

CCI Velocitors and Remington Viper22 reliably cycle my 21a so far. Going to see how Aguila Interceptors and the Winchester Super X hyperspeed bullets work in the 21a this weekend.

This thread reminds me that I need to buy another 21a. I have an early blued one, but want a stainless one now. I've only used 40g CCI minis in mine.

Morgan Richie Class 3 Machining is the go to for 21A barrel work. Just bought a new 21A INOX and will have him do the barrel. I sold my first 21A unfortunately.

It will not work with one in the pipe and seven in the mag either. The mag that came with it wont seat unless you smack it pretty hard and of the two factory mags I bought one will seat and the other wont. It wont run with all the mags.

Mine was made about 2 months ago.
The manual says to use standard velocity ammo so that’s what I’ve used and mine works great.

I had 2 older ones that would only work (occasionally) with MiniMags.

If you are having problems seating the mag with 7 rounds in it, you might want to check the mags themselves, feed lips, brand mags and such.

I have not had any problems with either of my mags, or with any ammo so far.

I do however usually use CCI Stingers.

I have shot CCI Stingers, Velocitors, Minimags, and standard velocity. Winchester and Federal bulk pack ammo has worked fine.

No FTF's, No FTE's or jamming of any kind in about 1,000 rounds since I bought it earlier this year.

The only problems I have had, is the two rail cuts it left on my hand the first time I fired it and had my hand too high on the grip.

Nice little trickle of blood running down my fingers when I was done shooting the magazine. Won't do that again.
