Looking for suggestions for a new pistol 22 host. I have a Ruger mark iv tactical, but it is just too dang bulky and heavy. Which are the hosts that y'all pull out the most just to go out and do some quiet plinking? (I have an el camino and an erector in jail). TIA.

I just got an advantage arms conversion for my gen 4 glock 19 and it edges out my ruger mark IV lite just a bit, prob due to size.

I just got my el Camino and it’s incredible and lightweight. Love it more than my spectre.

My Walther P-22Q is my favorite pistol for suppression. With the Silencerco Warlock II, it's a lightweight, compact package and has been 100% reliable.

I'd say the S&W M&P Compact 22 with the threaded barrel is ideal for a suppressor host.

I have always wanted some sort of subcompact semi auto 22lr pistol as a host

Just don't know of any that are reliable and have threaded barrels

Any suggestions?

I'm looking into the Ruger SR22 TB for my AAC Element or Gemtech Alpine.

Of all the ones I own with threaded barrel.
I would say the Buck Mark is quietest and best in stock configuration.
And the Ruger Mark IV with a volquertson trigger kit installed are the sweetest trigger feel.
The S&W Victory is a ho hum boring gun.
Over the years I’ve owned 22 guns that look like a full size 9mm or a little smaller and sold them because they lacked in accuracy or reliability.

My favorite is my Kadet kit on a CZ75 SAO frame. Phenomenal accuracy and reliability, feels great in the hand, points naturally (for me anyway). But it's got some weight to it, doesn't quite sound like what you're looking for.

Also have a Volquartsen Scorpion which is a very, very nice suppressor host. Reliable, extremely accurate, lightweight, looks good. I do wish the bore axis was a little lower. Just feels a hair awkward being that I'm so used to the Kadet. Still, can't wait to get my Energetic Arms Nyx in and try it on the Volquartsen. My stainless Sparrow is nice on there, can't wait to try it with a lightweight suppressor.

Went this route after a bunch of reading. Wanted the rail too for IR laser/light.

Runs great, both accurate and reliable so far with somewhere between a brick or two through it.

Ruger charger w/ pistol brace.

PMACA chassis would be the way to go.
