Never saw this sight before. I'm interested in the pistol but damn! That's an ugly sight.

Yes and other than the Colt Gold Cup National Match most factory Colts came with the very small sights for the series 70’s and earlier guns.   BoMar, Millet, Novak, King Tappan sold a lot of sights for 1911’s.

That slide has been cut/milled down. I like the look of a low mount Bomar. Have a Wichita rear sight on an old colt slide somewhere. This thing is just

It’s still kind of the start of the art for precise, longer range shooting—BoMar, then Kensight sights still look like that.

Looks like about all you can with that slide is have it milled for an optic cut.
