I'm about to buy another Beretta 92fs, and I could swear that the 92a1 has a lighter double action trigger pull than a stock 92fs. Is this right? Just curious more than anything, figured somebody here would probably know.

To my knowledge the 92A1 does not come with the reduced power hammer spring (known as the 'D' spring) that reduces the DA trigger weight.

The D spring comes with the M9A3, LTT Elite, and Wilson Combat Brigadier/Centurion Tactical models.

As an aside, the D spring is available for less than $10 and trivial to install; I wouldn't base my purchase around the hammer spring.

Give the LTT Elite a look - you can order them with Ernest Langdon's trigger tune, which is well worth the money.

No.

Both my two 92a1's came with the standard weight hammer spring, I installed reduced weight D springs in both of them myself.

Someday I'm going to give the 1911 spring a shot.

No, it is the same hammer spring.
