They are imported in batches and were in high demand before covid started. Even more so now. They pop up on GunBroker every other day and Bud's occasionally has them for reasonable prices. Same for the full size 9mm.

If you're okay buying used not from an lgs join up on hkpro and check this ee as well. Some of the best prices for nice Hks can be had on the second hand market

My lgs had a couple of new ones. I bought one and they still had one left last week I believe. If you’re interested I can send you their phone number and you can see if it’s still in stock. It was a v1 with tritium night sights, about $980 if I’m not mistaken.

I've got a USP in .40 and 45. Both full size. I had the 9mm but it didn't do anything better than a G17 so I parted ways with it. I've never gotten into the compacts because they didn't fill a niche.
Good luck with your search, op. Hard to find any handguns reasonably priced these days.

I have had no luck with the local gun stores as it pertains to pricing.
Local gun shows seem to still have some deals to be had. Just picked up a NIB USPC 40 Stainless Slide for $700 which I thought was pretty good overall. There were only 3 HK handguns in the entire show and I got one of them, the others were black 45 compact and full size. |

Got the fullsize close to a decade ago and the compact was from Summit Gunbroker when he was blowing them out for under $400 and spare mags were under $15 a pop. |
