Just saw this. Searched for dupes and did not find any.

So evidently Ed Brown is expanding into the custom M&P space. No idea pricing but I do love my Special Forces, and I love my M&Ps, so this is kind of cool to me.

Guessing it's Ed Brown pricing so nobody feint when they find out it's a good chunk of change.

High prices.

But I'm intrigued just the same

So Wilson with Glock and Beretta and now Brown with S&W. Hard no on all of them. People sure like to change their "perfect guns" into something totally different.

$2,000 for essentially a slide upgrade?

Gross

No thanks.

Not gonna lie... the price is a turnoff for sure. Some of those prices are really out there. I have a fully metal, machined-by-Ed-freaking-Brown 1911 that cost less new than some of those M&Ps.

I could buy a nice Dan Wesson 1911 and a APEXd M&P 2.0c for that kind of money.

Hard pass.

Lot of money for mostly needless items. My full size 2.0 with only an APEX DCAK trigger outshoots anything in my safe. No other parts needed and way cheaper.

If I’m honest I think this is exactly what Brown should have done: focused on parts and ‘smithing to make the M&P the best it can be. It’s a really easy to work on system and people are used to doing it with Glocks so the DIY market is there, and they can offer the ‘smithing as a for-cost option.

I love that they jumped into the M&P marketplace but at that premium a price... it’s a hard pill to swallow.

I just want some companies to make rmr equipped/ready slides for the m&p full size, compact and shield pistols just like how Glock has so many options for rmr pre drilled slides

I think Ed Brown makes some great 1911's, which I won't be buying either. Both my M&P's have good triggers, feed reliably, and hit where I point them. Stock. Maybe some Apex parts down the road? Maybe. But $2000? Nope.

It’s a beautiful M&P, but yeah, it’s too expensive.

I like the large front rail block, and the custom solid machined pins he puts in the frame, but everything else is available from companies like Apex for a lot less.

Fuck no.  I wouldn’t for fun that cash on a polymer gun.
