My son "borrowed" my old, first generation Kimber TLE.  It was actually a great pistol and my only full-size, non-railed, single-stack 1911.  I have had my DW CBOB for CCW and have had it for several years and love it, but really liked the look of the DW Valor and missed out several times just not jumping on deals with when they were more available.  I bid on one for the I the limit I would pay and won the auction.  Just arrived this week and it's sweet!  I needed a full-size non-railed 1911 for a few holsters I still have

I love that pistol.  I had a special edition that was just like yours, but came with ambi safety and a couple other small changes.  Beautiful gun.  If I ever find a deal on one, I'll jump again.

Your picture doesn't do the pistol any justice.

so it went away for a few years and is now back in production it seems.

Any changes on this most recent release ?

trigger looks different on the website.   When was your pistol produced?

I bought one a few years ago. Fit and finish was great, shot well, and I like the straight 8 sights were great.

Traded it for god knows what and kinda regret that since it was on par with an Ed Brown

His must be old stock, the new Valors are different.

I had one of the transitional models---Duty Treat had replaced Duty Coat but they were still using an Ed Brown part or two and someone else's rear sight.

Great guns.  All I ever changed on mine was to replace the grips with Operator IIs.  I did wish it had a magwell though.

Great guns.  Love everything about them except for the stupid "Straight 8" sights.

OG Valor is best Valor. The new one is nasty.

I have the 9mm and regret selling my 45.

Yeah, I had 45 ACP Valors from 2013 and 2014. I miss those guns.

I agree, that's why I put an EB magwell on mine

It's not a bad gun, but they shouldn't have called it a Valor.

What's wrong with the new one?

Personal preference.
I don't like the checkering or undercut on the new one.
I hate non slanted rear serrations
The trigger looks stupid
Doesn't have the nice thicker bushing
Only things I like on it are the slide top serrations and the Stan chen Magwell.
They should have called it another model.

To each their own but I have to disagree with you there. That is 1 thing I think looks 100x better on the new version. I love the classic vertical, rear only slide serrations. The slanted style is the only thing I don't like about mine.

I like the straight serrations on a milspec style gun but not on one with bells and whistles.

Nice. Are those the thin VX grips? I have a set in the same color coming for my specialist that should be here tomorrow.
