That 2.5 inch Python is one sexy beast. I've got a 6" stainless from '65 or else I'd be all over that.

Good catch. Funny, that is a 2020 Python, but it does look like a 3" although it does have the proper service grips that are coming out on the 2.5". I can't explain why. I did change out the original picture to show the actual 2.5" Python. |

To each their own but these "snubnose" Pythons seem really retarded to me. The whole point of a snubnose is to have a small, compact and lighter weight gun for carry/SD so why would anybody want a snubnose with a heavy ass target frame and target sights? Just my opinion but of you want a target gun, get a Python with the 4.25 or 6" barrel. If you want a snubnose for carry, get a Cobra (2.5") or King Cobra with the (3" barrel). if you want a snubnose for target shooting then
![]() But like I said, to each their own. It's no skin off my ass if some people want them for whatever and Colt is willing to make them. What does however kind of chap my ass is... Colt has a whole catalog of guns that nobody can find anywhere. How about they stick to making the guns they already catalog and save the new models for after they get caught up making the existing models? Crazy I know lol |

I drooled over all the Colts at the LGS on Monday. Has anyone noticed a big variation in the grip colors? They had several Pythons that had “dusky” looking grips and then a few that looked more polished and brown walnut colored. There was a significant color difference with 10 or so laying in the case. There were a couple that I would not have been happy to receive if I ordered without seeing prior.
The shop carries blems, but these were not. I’ll be all over a blued in 5” if they ever come out with that years from now. I should have enough money saved up by then if Biden and his ilk haven’t destroyed us by then. |

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and promoted by mainstream media which holds forth the premise that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end.

So I was on a quest to add all the new Pythons to my collection, keeping my fingers crossed (for my wallet’s sake) that they wouldn’t add any more barrel variants. Well I have the 3”, 4.25” and 6”. Looks like two more will be added at some point…

I'm sort of in the same boat. I have the three current barrel lengths, but damn, that 2.5" sure looks good! IMO it's better looking than the 3". It's just hard to justify ponying up another $1300-$1500 (after prices stabilize) or so for the exact same pistol only with a 1/2" shorter barrel.
I've always thought the 6" was the best looking, but that long barrel is kind of nose heavy. The 5" seems to split the difference and looks just right. But sometimes you just gotta draw the line and just say NO! |

Hmm’ if Colt does not come out with a .454 Anaconda, a .45 Colt cylinder could also be cut to accept ACP and is plenty strong enough for .45 Winchester Magnums as well. So either hot .45 Colts or the Winchester Magnum can be used higher levels of boom, boom!

I like large(er) frame guns of all sorts as they are easier/quicker to shoot fast(er), they give me more to hold onto. J-frame size guns are neatly tiny but a chore for me, K-frame & up are easier to grip and have more room for the moving parts to have a better trigger. The short barrel makes them easier for 2 things, cover with a shorter shirt and carry horizontal in a shoulder holster (which is very nice if spending a lot of time driving).
