I have a cart full of parts on Wilson Combat right now.  

I used to have a Wilson 1911 so the Colt is disappointing in many ways, but also better in some.  I'm not afraid to get it dirty or dinged up, don't mind woods carry but I would like to make it my BBQ gun as well.  The poorly cast controls are a big turn-off.  Overall I feel free from the over-priced safe queen but holy shit that Wilson was incredible.

Thinking (in stainless);

Hammer
Ambi Safety
Magwell
Beavertail
Flatwire Recoil Spring
Walnut Grips
Recoil Buffers
Trigger, Sear, and Sear Spring
Couple Magazines

Then some polishing and possibly satin finish the stainless (entire gun).

I'd use EGW parts, and ditch the recoil buffers.

edit: add a firing pin retaining block no radius oversize to your cart and a custom cut barrel bushing .002 undersize of barrel OD.
