There is an older Colt Commander for sale near me locally and it has a spur hammer. All of the pictures I have ever seen of the Colt Commander pistols have the Commander style hammers. Did Colt ever release the Commander with a spur hammer? The serial number has it being produced in 1981. Thanks for any information.

When I got my latest 80's era Combat Elite, it had a spur hammer over a "Rat Tail" grip safety, so maybe someone sent yours out that way too. I used a Speed Demon action Kit from Nowlin, to get a commander round hammer and that came as a prefitted set, along with a sear and disconnector, and springs: https://www.nowlinarms.com/product/speed-demon-action-kit/  |

I had an 81 Combat Commander 9mm and it had a rowel hammer. One of my Combat Elites came like yours, also. Spur over the rat tail. |
