Went to the range today to chrono some loads.    All were 5 shot groups (minimum 3, if the chrono didn't read).  4.25 inch and 5 inch Tisa pistols.  8:15 am, ambient temp around 70 degrees.    Personally, I think Blazer was a secret contender for ball ammo.  Hope this helps someone.   (It's formated properly in desktop view)

Ammo:
.                                         Average Velocity (4.25 barrel)               (5 inch barrel)

Blazer 230gr Brass                   836.8  (828-847fps)                             871.75   (859-894 fps)

Blazer 230gr Alum                   845.6  (815-875 fps)                            857.6  (844-870fps)

Rem UMC 230gr HP                  825.8  (792-869 fps)                           864.2  (836-882)

S&B    230    gr                      770.6  (714-820)                                  840.8  (834-862)

WWB     230    gr                   836.2  (809-888)                                   871.4  (839-897)

Win "Service Grade"                  806  (782-826)                                     868.6  (836-884)

Federal "Punch" 230gr HP          833.6  (802-862)                                  888.25  (851-924, 4 rounds only)

Excellent post thanks.

I always liked Blazer ammo and it sure looks the best of that group. Some of those extreme spreads looked awful.

Blazer aluminum always shoots very accurate too and seems to be full power. Also reflected by your chrono data.

The S&B really didn't like the barrel length drop.

Neither did the "service grade."  I wonder what if they were using a different powder or something.

I'm kind of annoyed because I just ordered 2 cases of S&B in 9mm.  Hope it's not as finicky.

But Blazer was kind of the secret winner IMO.  Looks like the Aluminum was probably best 'bang for the buck.'

I definitely need to do some accuracy tests, but don't have a rest - usually just sandbag it, which isn't super repeatable.
