Well I bought myself a xmas gift. The keltec cp33, I was all fired up about finding it. But after taking it out a few times, this gun has problems. I took it back where I bought it. He is a gun smith, he loaded up and took it out and fired it. He used good ammo and he even had problems with it jamming up. He said I need to just load 15-20 rounds and keep working with it and carry a small screwdriver with me to reposition the ammo. I have shot about 600 rounds of CCI mini mags threw it. Ive had it rim lock. Failure to feed. Ive always loved keltec ideas but seems like they get a good idea then drop the ball. The mags are ridiculously frustrating when they stack wrong. Im probably going to send mine back to Keltec.

Just shot mine, (with a Sparrow) it ran excellent.  I loaded 5 mags to 33rds, the only problem was loading the first round.  The slide didn't have enough force to close all the way.  I just saw this thread and noticed to load to 32, no problem.  Its was very accurate and had no jams...cool little toy.  Put about 250 rounds total.

New toy. Budget red dot , stippled grip, safety, charging handle. Next will be a fs1913 folding brace. Also made a Kydex owb holster that uses a combat loop for belt attachment. Print is black leather look. For the grip stipple, I only stippled the raised squares but I continued the squares on the front and back strap.

I haven't read the replies here for a while. I would bet  that your troubles are all due to rim lock. Do you have one of the American loaders? I am not associated with them in any way...when using their loaded, I rarely to never have any screwed up mags. You need to look at the stack and make sure the stagger is in/out, in/out, etc....hope that makes sense. I have a small curved dental pick type tool that I use to adjust the stack if one has to be pushed one way or the other. It is a bit of a pain to some, but not that big of a deal really.

Hopefully that helps you.

Added:

Mine does bot like the ammo with the gummy bullets....Remington Golden especially. It shot it fine a couple mags, but the lube from the bullets gums up the mags and makes the rounds slow to advance.

I am having great luck with Winchester M22 now. The M22 has become my go to for rimfire ammo. Reliability has been great in the 4 guns I run it in. Feeds and functions very well. I have had one dud, and haven't tested for accuracy yet. $42/1000 at Wally World doesn't hurt either. I really like the "coated" bullets, they are not gummy in anyway at all.

The grip is for demonstration purposes only. That aside, I love this gun. It loves CCI 40 gr mini mags and CCI Stingers. So far it's ran the 40gr golden bullet and the federal black pack bulk pack stuff also. Those just seem to need a bit more attention loading the mags. The cci are effortless loading and with the others I've had to really take the time to make sure they don't rim lock. I'm getting 2 more mags and one of the cp33 specific loaders delivered today. I've got high hopes that the loader will take care of the slow loading issues with the Remington and federal ammo.

I know the colors don't exactly match with the brace, but I don't think anything will. I emailed kel tec about what cerakote would best match the cp33 tan color because I want to cerakote the brace adapter and apparently they don't even know what color it is. All I got from them was that they have 2 different tan colors, a sand color and a coyote tan color. They didn't even specify which one was on the cp33. And from what I've gathered, kel tec tan colors are specifically kel tec. They're not a general cerakote color. Oh well. I'm very happy with the set up and how it looks. I'd really like some feed back on it.

As a side note, this is my first post ever. So I'm stil trying to figure all this out.

Just keeping the thread alive..

I had my first OOB in the CP33 this last quick outting. Was running Win M22.

I learned another thing in regards to mag loading and feeding.

When loading one of my mags with my American loader...there was a stoppage. I had to stop loading and pop a couple rounds out and then finish loading it up. A few needed to be manually adjusted to get the proper stacking. I had a few problems with this mag when firing also. The other mags loaded smoothly from start to finish and shot perfectly. So, whenever I have a funky issue when loading my mag, I plan to empty and start over. If they load perfectly, the fire perfectly.

YMMV

Yup - that's the one. You'll also need some MLOK screws and nuts but those are readily available from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FTCBD3L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@Engineer

I printed a couple of these up for my buddy and just noticed in your picture, the back of yours is contoured to fit the trigger guard area.

The ones i printed are flat. Unfortunately i wont get to try these out until tomorrow. just wondering if the STL file i linked previously was actually the one you used or if you had a better one?

I also have to figure out that missing line. Thought it was a clog so i printed another but it was still there. Going to try to slice it in Cura, used the Creality slicer first.

Thanks for any input.

@nottooslow

The STL file with the contoured profile is in the Files - should be the last one (afg_trigger_profile.stl) - it's got some texturing on the front so you might want to print with supports and slow your feed rate down in the beginning until those are done.

I sliced mine with the Prusa slicer and added support blockers on the AFG area so I didn't have to clean it up later on. I also printed mine on an Ender 3.

Thanks found the contoured file.

I sliced it in Cura with a 60% gyroid infill and the print was almost 12 hours.

backed it down to 20% and it came down to 6 hours.

Figure if I like it, i will make a 100% one out of PTEG.

Happy 4th of July to all our Patriots of our Republic. Well, I found a CP33 and finally purchased here it is with my Ruger 10/22.
It's not fun to load the magazine and you must do it properly or it will malfunction. Here is my 33 shot group at 25 yards. Today
I will do a YOUTUBE review today.

The only .22 ammo I shoot is the CCI BRAND COPPER PLATED I find the 40 grain more accurate than the 32 grain.

Do you happen to have a molle Leatherman multi-tool pouch sitting around? I've had good luck with those fitting pretty much any pistol mag, even extra-wide ones. They used to be extremely cheap on Amazon. I'm afraid I don't have a CP33 mag on hand to test, though.

I have been very happy with my CP33 so far.  I put a few hundred rounds of Minimags through it and now it seems to cycle everything just fine.

I really want to put a light underneath the barrel.  I have the MLok picatinny rail, but none of my lights line up with the trigger guard properly.  Has anyone found a weapon light that mounts under the barrel adequately?

I picked up a CP33 today at my local shop. It had been sitting in the display cabinet for 2-3 months and was getting lonely so I took it home and put it in the safe next to my PMR30 and CMR30. I paid $400 OTD for the CP33. I put a Swampfox Kingslayer red dot on it that was on my S&W 22A. Now to get out and shoot it.

I think so too since the shop owner was asking $465 originally. She took $65 off the price and she ate the sales tax. I have seen them online for $450-$500 not including shipping, transfer fees, and taxes.

I wasn't really looking to buy a CP33 but it just looked sad stuck in the corner of the case by itself for a few months. Plus I'm happy with the price I got it for. I'm sure that it will be as fun as my PMR and CMR have been for me.
