I have a 65-3  I would like to use as a woods gun. Any issues shooting Buffalo  bore 180gr hard cast in it?  Maybe 20-30 rounds a year?

I wouldn’t worry with that number of rounds.

I would worry about your hand more than the gun.  Especially if you still have the magnas on it.

You're good, it's really just the S&W .44 mags that have strength issues.

You’re probably good with that many rounds. I being it was a steady diet of magnum rounds causing the cracked forcing cone issues in K frames. I mainly shoot .38 in my 65’s and save the .357 for the 28.

Supposedly it is the hot 125gr loads that mess up the K frames.

LOL, this. I have BB that I got for the 686. I shot some hot, and I mean HOT PPU ammo from it and it was an eye-opener. I was like: "357 shouldn't feel this bad in this big-ass gun!"
I looked at the pimers and they were all flat.
Now I'm wondering how the BB is gonna feel.
