I am considering one of the LEO trade in Glock 45 mos models with the direct milling from Glock that Aims surplus is selling but I don't really like the gaps left in front and behind the optic on them.
I also have a Glock 19x which is essentially the same pistol just without an optic cut. I may just send in my slide from the G19x and be done with it. Well I still need to get a Glock performance trigger for the 19x too. I have read good reviews about Maple Cut which charges $125 for this service. Are there any other I should check out or is Maple Cut good to do? Thanks |

I always hear people mentioning Battle Werx though I've never sent them anything.

I’ve had 2 done that I’m happy with. Wager machine does them and turn around was like a week with cerakote. Battlewerx was 5 weeks but that was with the nitride finish. I like how battlewerx is a deeper cut and the fitment is tight.

I wanted to keep the factory 19X PVD finish so DLC or nitride was out. Some people just cold blue the cut but I feel better having it cerakoted. I’ll post pics whenever I get it back. |

Yes please post pics!
Thanks |

Let me ask this, do all these places make the optic cuts the same depth or do some cut them so the optic sits lower on slide? If so is deeper better?

See my recent post about Battle Werx. 100% pleased with the machining and DLC refinish. My wife likes my G-43 with optic so much now she wants her G-43 done. I'll be sending in her slide and a G-19 slide to Battle Werx next month.
FWIW, the machining, refinishing, and shipping, tax, etc. all-in was under $200. Turnaround time, including the time it took to send and receive, was 29 days. |

If you don't currently own an optic, the ability to buy an optic and have it milled from them is very compelling. $359.99 for a Holosun 507C Green for the optic and milling service. $339.99 for the optic alone from PSA, Midway USA and optics planet (the first three reputable businesses that showed up in my search results). Of course some people get better deals, buy used or already own an optic. |

Had wager cut my 19x for a 509t. From shipping it to them and getting it back in my hands was less than a week. That included cerakote. ![]() ![]() |

+1 on Wager Machine Works, all of my optic slide milling are by them.

Do you have to get the slide refinished? Is there corrosion issues if you don’t?
The milled area will mostly all be covered with the optic right? Thinking of getting a G19.5 slide done |

Wager does all of mine
Solid price, great work, quick turn around |

I had Nameless do my g26. Was super happy with the work. He has u sent your optic in along with the slide so the cut is specifically tight on your optic. It won't fall out even with screws removed. It's a good idea to get the pocket refinished for corrosion prevention. I suppose you could cold blue it and then oil, but this would probably still have rust issues eventually.
Eta his communication is very good. He tells u when he recieves your slide and sends pics of the work |

I like that they promise to have you work done within four weeks. A local shop to me seems to take a different approach. They take you slide and then return it whenever they feel like…or so it seems. |

Bear in mind Battlewerx does their cut differently than Wager Machine.
Battlewerx has 2 front bosses and 2 screw post bosses or whatever you call them. Wager doesnt have screw bosses just the 2 front alignment bosses. Now I like the way battlewerx does their cut. But the screws are thinner. 4-40 I think, not 6-32. Not that I am a fan of 6-32. They are thicker though and should be stronger all other factors being equal. Brownells G19 slide has the same type. I have one and the fittment was tight with a 407C. I like that the screw bosses take the shearing load instead of the screws. A well fitted cut really wont need to worry about that though so may be moot. One thing to consider is the Battlewerx style may not accomodate the new Trijicom RCR with its use of the capstan screws. I havent seens yay or nay yet though. I have a Battlewerx credit from their last sale and a RCR on backorder so I have a vested interest in the answer. |

Battlewerx has done a bunch for me, with the latest being a Glock 26 Rmr cut, and a Glock 32 EPS cut. I re-coat the bare slides with blk rustoleum paint, so my turnaround time is 1 week.

Very pleased with BattleWerx, I'm going to send them a few other slides soon.

Maple Leaf has done two slides for me and both have been great. They have excellent CS and a respectable turnaround time, too.

I've been waiting quite some time for an RMR g26 version as well. Hell, I would just like a standard g19 with straight serrations. About all they have consistently are standard g26 and g17 slides. |
