I'm a total novice when it comes to suppressors.

What do you recommend for a threaded barrel?  The suppressor itself?

Anything else I should know, like does the threaded barrel require a special bushing?

I sent my Wilson CQB to the mothership and had them install a threaded barrel. It shoots lasers and is reliable, but I paid dearly. You'll need a suppressor that has a piston and a thread protector.

That is the easy part..
Check out Silencer Co's Pistol Cans . Many of them come with or have pistons available.
I have an Octane 45HD that I use on all my Center fire caliber pistols and enjoy it quite a bit. I'd really like to get 2 more in 9mm.

Hard part is getting a threaded barrel for your 1911, not saying its not possible, it is, just its a bit harder than other popular handguns with easily changeable barrels.

Yes, I get it.  I will have to have a gunsmith fit it to my particular gun for reliability reasons alone.
