Hey I have a beretta 85 that runs just fine. I recently bought a 32 cal browning BDA barrel (supposedly identical to beretta barrel) so I could shoot 32 through it. Per "the internet" beretta 85 mags and 82 mags are identical other than markings and witness marks (also beretta 82 mags are unobtanium) so i've been using the 85 magazines with 32 APC.

Ever since the barrel switch about once per mag I've been getting stove pipes with an unfired round, projectile up. My thought is that the 82 mags may have slightly different feed lip geometry or a different follower and the 32 rounds are just slightly loose in the 85 mag and popping up prematurely and getting caught in the action. Next range session im gonna try bending the feed lips down a little bit. Any other thoughts on this? Thanks

I would do a bit of research on the recoil spring first

Sorry....I was thinking Beretta 84 and 81....  had no idea about the 82

I did your same set up except i used an actual Beretta .32acp barrel.

3 mags are flawless and one mag always has a stove pipe.  Took measurements, looked and looked and can find no differences.

I marked the one mag and only use it for .380

I have nothing to add except I think you're on the right track with the feed lips.

Owned a Beretta 82 before with a proper 7.65 marked magazine.

The feeds lips were ever so slightly different than the .380 Beretta 85 magazines. Otherwise the 7.65/.380 mags are identical in every which way including the follower.

7.65 marked Beretta 82 mags are pretty much unobtanium in the US.

Anybody have pics of the 82 mag feed lips?

Small update for anyone interested. I took advice on here and bent the feedlips on a 85 mag. Just tightened some vice grips around the front few mm of the feed lips, took them off, gave then another half to the adjustment screw, and then pinched the front few mm of the feed lips again. Flawless function after this.
